Super Dimensional Wizard

Main Text Volume Section 166 Epigraphy

Although alchemy is not included in the three major frameworks, it is also the mainstream choice of wizards.

There are many directions in alchemy. In ancient times, alchemists divided it into two categories: "acting on oneself" and "using external objects". Today's alchemy world is not as obscure as in ancient times. It is directly divided into: pharmacy and epigraphy.

As the name suggests, pharmacy focuses on refining potions. For example, the Cold Night Potion owned by Angel was made by an alchemist who is proficient in pharmacy. Of course, pharmacy is profound and does not simply refer to potions to be drunk. Some more niche branches, such as Lianna's perfume making, also belong to pharmacy.

Epigraphy focuses on making alchemical props. David's spiral aircraft belongs to mechanical alchemy under epigraphy.

The concept of alchemy is "transformation". Whether it is the direction of potion or the direction of stone, they are actually centered around the core of "transformation". Therefore, although the two have different focuses, in fact, no matter which one they are involved in, they are all collectively called alchemists.

Although the two have a lot in common, the refining process is different, and the selection of materials also has different focuses. Therefore, David must first ask which direction Angel is going to go before he can prepare the materials.

"The two major directions of alchemy are very talent-testing. In terms of economic value, the two are similar; but from a technical level, I personally think that the direction of stone is slightly more difficult." Seeing that Angel was hesitant, David thought he was still hesitating, so he simply said what he understood about the two directions of alchemy.

Angel: "I'm going to go the direction of stone."

"Are you sure? Although the direction of potion also depends on talent, once you master the refining of a potion, you can quickly recover the cost. It may not be so easy to make a profit in the direction of stone."

"Sure." Angel decided to choose stone study early. Although the alchemy books he recorded in the Nightmare Realm include both goldstone and potions, he is not planning to study potions yet. If the Purification Garden was not about to open, he might have postponed learning alchemy.

But things are unpredictable. The Purification Garden inspired Angell. In order to climb the Sky Tower and get the admission ticket to the Purification Garden, Angell had to take a different approach and start thinking about alchemy.

"Okay, you made your own decision, don't regret it."

"I won't regret it. If goldstone doesn't work, I can still choose the direction of potions again."

David said with a smile: "Then we are on the same road, and we can help each other."

"I have a few books introducing goldstone materials here. You can take a look. If you need anything, I will go to the warehouse to get it for you. It is definitely the market price." David took out several thick stacks of books and placed them in front of Angell.

"Magic Gold Material Encyclopedia", "Smelting and Neutralization Material Set", "Catalytic Material Collection"...

David gave these dictionary-like books to Angell, and actually wanted to persuade Angell to quit. Although he was talking to Angell with a smile, he was actually not optimistic about Angell's utopianism. If it was about making friends, David would be willing to be friends with Angell. But when it came to alchemy, David had an opinion. He valued alchemy even more than himself.

In his heart, alchemy was not something that anyone could get involved in. Angell plunged into the pit of alchemy and pretended to be rich, which made him feel that something he cherished was being blasphemed by people who didn't understand it.

This was a very complicated feeling. If Angell had chosen pharmacy, he might not have been a big deal. But Angell chose the same epigraphy as him, and the scale in his heart began to shift.

David didn't explain this thick stack of books, but just looked at Angell with a smile and let him make his own decision.

Angel didn't notice David's twists and turns. He purposefully picked out the books he wanted from the pile, flipped through the pages quickly, and then quickly pointed out the materials he wanted to buy.

"12 standard quantities of fog silk, 7.8 kilograms of high copper, 11 cups of moorland gravel, 349 grams of ice glue, star cold gold..."

David looked at Angel's sophisticated selection and suddenly realized that Angel actually had a blueprint in his mind before making the choice. Although the materials he selected were not of the highest level, there was actually an intrinsic connection between them. For example, ice glue and star cold gold seemed to be incompatible, but when David went to Master Prome's house once, he heard Prome talking to another alchemist, who mentioned that ice glue was used five minutes after the hot melt method and a certain amount of catalytic powder was added, which was the best adhesive for star cold gold. High copper is often used in mechanical alchemy and is an ideal material for making intermediates such as gears, while fog silk is a tough material that cooperates with the rotation of gears. The two are also a common combination.

Angel was able to come up with these, and it was obvious that he had ideas. Looking at the other materials he selected, some are resistant to high temperatures, some are highly ductile, and some can add power sources. When all these materials are integrated, it seems that the prototype of some kind of mechanical alchemy can be seen.

Until then, the slight discomfort in David's heart disappeared. Because he saw that Angell did not treat alchemy with a playful mentality, which was enough for him.

Angell selected a lot of materials, which were actually in response to his inner ideas, ideas about alchemical weapons.

"There are 17 kinds of materials in total. If you calculate according to what you wrote, it will cost 1321 contribution points. I'll give you 1300 after rounding off the decimals." David glanced at the list that Angel had drawn up and quickly calculated the price.

1300 contribution points, worth about 13 magic crystals, is already a sky-high price for a wizard apprentice. You know, Angel only spent 500 contribution points to rent a room. But for Angel, he could afford this price, and not long ago, he earned 1000 contribution points from Lady Lianna.

He took out the bone card and swiped 1300 contribution points.

His generous attitude made David feel envious and jealous again.

At this time, the two crystal balls on the table glowed slightly. David glanced at them and said, "The data you want has been transmitted. I'll go to the warehouse to get the materials. Do you want to pick it up now or have it delivered to your door?"

"I'll definitely deliver it to my door. I don't have any space equipment."

"Okay, I'll give you 10 contribution points."

...

When he came out of Prome's Alchemy Shop, Angel went to the Sky Tower again. When he came over, Nausicaa's game had ended and she was taking a nap in the lounge. Angel chatted with Nausicaa for a while. As they expected, in the previous game, Nausicaa didn't even draw her weapon. She fought with her fists and feet and defeated the Immortal Ice Emperor in a few moves.

Nausicaa won a game and had no intention of stopping. She was ready to seize this rare opportunity and continue the game.

Angel left a blessing, said goodbye to her, and returned to his home in Apprentice Town.

As soon as Toby got home, he immediately flew to the attic and started a new chapter with his echo flower band. Angel sat in the yard, listening to Toby's "Noise Concert" while waiting for David to deliver the goods to his door.

The leisure time passed quickly. Half an hour later, David shouted to four strong men and came to Angel's door. These four strong men were all ordinary people, carrying several sealed wooden boxes in pairs.

Angel directed them to move the wooden boxes to the basement, and only dismissed them after the inspection was completed and confirmed to be correct.

"Four ordinary people's labor, you asked me for 10 contribution points, your calculation is really smart." Angel said gloomily behind David.

David blinked innocently: "You don't have space equipment, do you? That is the standard equipment of the wizard, and we apprentices can forget about it. So, the door-to-door delivery must be asked by ordinary people."

Angel waved his hand unhappily, "You got the advantage and still acted cute, hurry up."

After David left, Angel went to the basement to sort out the materials. When everything was completed, the moon had climbed above my head, shining the eternal tree with a bright glow.

Angel dragged his tired body and collapsed on the bed. There were too many things that happened on this day. Although they all turned out well in the end, his already exhausted spirit was already tense. He yawned, covered himself with the quilt hastily, and fell asleep almost the moment he closed his eyes.

The next morning, Angel washed up and went to the quiet room.

The sequelae of the backlash of magic have not been completely eliminated, so meditation and magic training need to be postponed. But the study plan remains unchanged. He plans to formally learn alchemy theory today.

Alchemy, in Angel's mind, was actually an analogy with chemistry. Chemistry is also a subject that transforms the properties of a certain element. Alchemy is very similar to chemistry to some extent. But when he combined Sanders's collection of books with the books recorded by the Nightmare Realm to understand, Angel suddenly realized that although the chemistry of the earth and the alchemy of the wizard world seem to be related, they are essentially two different things.

Alchemy is a transformation method driven by "mystery". Behind every transformation, there is mysterious energy involved. Even mechanical alchemy requires magic as the core kinetic energy.

In addition, if you want to learn alchemy, you must also learn magic runes. Use the power of magic runes to draw out the mysterious energy contained in the ordinary materials, and then construct the most perfect combination. Or, simply use magic runes as the core and materials as the auxiliary for alternative alchemy.

After reading the alchemy theory, Angell was also overwhelmed. He thought that learning some alchemy methods would be enough, but who knew that magic runes would also be involved. That is also an extremely large and complicated subject. If you learn it well, you will not lack magic crystals just to draw magic rune scrolls.

Angell sighed. Sure enough, if you want to reach the level of making alchemical weapons in a short period of time, it seems that you still have to start from the technological side of the earth for the time being. Mechanical alchemy has a bit of technological flavor. But at its root, it is still based on the ordinary, so it is still something that goes in the opposite direction of technology.

Angel's current plan is to use Earth's weapons as a blueprint template and combine it with the alchemical methods of the wizarding world to see if he can create a weapon that can deter wizard apprentices.
