Two Thousand One Hundred and Eight, Integration and Comprehension
Brothers, I have opened a new book again: Restarting Life: I can call myself ten years ago. Brothers, help me collect it and give some recommendations!
******************
After participating in this project, Lao Zhou contributed all his efforts.
He told the two engineers all about the combustion conditions of the marine internal combustion engine and its working conditions under various sea conditions.
It turns out that the working condition of an engine is not just as simple as injecting fuel, burning it, and pushing the crankshaft to rotate.
In fact, the working conditions of marine engines are much more complicated than that simple mode.
For example, when your ship is out at sea and encounters wind and waves, and the ship is rocked by huge waves, can you ensure that the engine works stably?
Even when wind and waves push your ship over, the ship continues to use power to get out of trouble.
If the engine tilts to an angle of 60 degrees with the ship and the sea level, can your engine still work normally?
What percentage of work efficiency is it under normal circumstances?
Will the work be interrupted? Under what circumstances can it be restored? Can smooth oil delivery be guaranteed?
These all need to be taken into consideration, so the working conditions of marine engines are much more complicated than those of automobile engines.
And when the ship is swaying on the sea, can the engine maintain stable operation?
These all need to be taken into consideration, and how can we ensure normal operation when working?
These are all Lao Zhou's experiences, and the two apprentice engineers had some records in books before.
Although you can roughly rely on your own imagination to simulate the engine working environment.
But after all, it's not that real, but with Lao Zhou's addition, their understanding of the environment becomes more real.
The two apprentice engineers also showed something that dazzled Lao Zhou.
For example, they took out a piece of software that Lao Zhou had never seen before, and followed the working environment described by Lao Zhou.
After setting it up on the software, a scene happened that surprised Lao Zhou from ear to ear.
They were able to simulate a 100,000-ton ship, and then the images of the ship operating in various sea conditions could be simulated.
The most important thing is that they can also set various wave parameters based on Lao Zhou's description.
Then the boat continued to work under the tossing of various waves.
And based on Lao Zhou's description, we constantly set parameters, trimmed parameters, etc., to simulate the simulated working conditions of a ship to the most realistic situation.
In fact, they were doing this kind of work every day before.
And this work is not just carried out by a group of them, but by more than a dozen groups of people at the same time.
There are even more, but those humans and machines are not on civilian ships, but on warships.
Everyone records the various working conditions of the ship and also records the sea conditions.
Only then did Lao Zhou understand why Captain Liu Dawei knew there was danger in the South China Sea.
But he still insisted on sailing the ship to the South China Sea...
You know, in fact, even if they want to escape the previous storm, there are still many places they can go.
The safest option is to pick a dock nearby and wait for the storm to pass.
But Liu Dawei insisted on going to sea, and also to the South China Sea, which is not an area under our actual control.
To be honest, Lao Zhou didn't understand this choice.
But now he finally understood that Liu Dawei was probably carrying various secret missions.
Just to collect all kinds of data...
As more and more data are collected, it will be possible for us engineers to use this data after we return.
Design some new ships with more reasonable layouts or more powerful engines.
After thinking about this, Lao Zhou's enthusiasm for work became even higher.
To be honest, he had never devoted himself so wholeheartedly to a job, and he recognized this job from the bottom of his heart.
Because he knows that this is related to the ships we Longguo people design in the future.
So he became even more serious about his work, and it can be said that he forgot all about food and sleep every day.
Apart from doing his own job well, he spent most of his time hanging out with the two apprentices.
Not only did he contribute his own experience and knowledge, but he also learned a lot from the two apprentices.
Especially regarding the operation of this software.
Zhou Dawei's understanding also surprised the two apprentice workers. They did not expect that this seemingly honest and honest old boatman could be so smart.
He is already forty years old, but he still has such a high level of understanding.
Even if it was the first time he came into contact with such advanced software, he would know how to operate it after using it a few times.
With this kind of understanding ability, if you can enter a university for further study, it will definitely be a malleable talent.
It's a pity that I didn't go to college that year. It's such a pity.
It was also the first time that Lao Zhou lamented to the two of them that he didn't study well back then, so now he regrets it.
It turned out that when he was in junior high school, he performed particularly well in mathematics, physics and chemistry.
But unfortunately, in terms of Chinese and English, his performance was really unsatisfactory.
Moreover, my family is from a rural area, and my parents don’t attach much importance to education.
When he failed to pass the high school entrance examination, he was sent directly to a vocational high school to hang out.
Later, by chance, he followed an elder from the same village and learned to be a boatman.
Later, I was lucky enough to go to a sailor's school for further study, and then I had the opportunity to learn some knowledge about marine machinery.
Then I went to sea with a ship and worked there for twenty years before I gained this experience.
If he had known that he was so interested in this stuff, he would have studied hard and gotten into a good university.
However, the two apprentices also comforted him that it is not too late to study now.
Anyway, the company encourages employees to study on their own. He can sign up for an online course and then collect some lectures from university teachers online.
Choose the self-study that interests you. If you don’t understand something, you can ask the two of them and we can learn together.
When Lao Yiyi heard this, he became even more happy. Anyway, his work content is relatively simple now.
There is a certain amount of free time every day, when I used to work on other ships.
Then he is just a gangster. He goes with the flow every day, either playing cards with others or playing games.
But now he finally found something that he thought was meaningful.
So he really followed the two people's advice, found many paid online courses from universities, and started studying.
And under the guidance of two college students, I specifically looked for areas where I had shortcomings in knowledge to make up for it.
Learning like this really made his knowledge improve by leaps and bounds.
The technology has also grown to a great extent, and he even has the opportunity to log into some foreign mechanical forums.
Take a look at how overseas sailors solve mechanical problems when they encounter them.
The foreigners' solutions were, to a large extent, an eye-opener for him.
It also made him really learn a lot of new things.
Unexpectedly, after being in contact with the two apprentices for a period of time, he not only taught them a lot of things.
And he also opened up a new world from the two apprentices, and his entire realm was sublimated.
If it were before, he might just stick to his current job and muddle along until he retires.
But now he feels that his life has suddenly found a new direction, and he wants to continue to work hard in the field of machine repair.
He used to be very arrogant even though he had some skills, but now he felt the depth of this field.
Especially after seeing videos of many big guys in the mechanical field explaining and solving problems on overseas technical forums.
Not only did it bring him a lot of inspiration, but it also gave him an indescribable shock.
You must know that many foreign mechanics are not ordinary people.
Even many people have accumulated skills passed down from generations, which are really beyond the comparison of ordinary people.
You are like a German technician. Why are you so good at mechanical engineering?
Do you think you really just rely on other people’s universities and engineer training systems?
In fact, that only accounts for 50%.
You can go and see the daily living conditions of German people.
If you are a mechanic or an engineer, go to their home and have a look.
Almost every male host has his own studio in the backyard of his home.
In that studio, there are various tools and equipment, and some even have various small machine tools.
Those masters can process all kinds of metal parts they want at home, and even assemble a piece of equipment by themselves.
And their children will also be exposed to it when they are young, and some even start to come into contact with machinery when they are eight or nine years old.
And I will become obsessed with machinery. When I go to college as a teenager, this is what I will study.
By the time I graduate from college, I will be an engineer at worst, and by the time I reach the golden age of about thirty or forty years old.
Someone may even accumulate experience and become a great inventor.
This is his true talent base.
And what about us? In this aspect, it is too far behind others.
Many of our international students are studying mechanical automation in Germany, and their theoretical knowledge is very solid.
In my freshman and sophomore years, I may even have performed better than local German students.
But when I was in my junior year, I started to enter the internship stage, when I started to really do it, work on my graduation project, or go to the factory to work on the front line and learn pure practical knowledge.
The gap between us and others was immediately apparent. It is no exaggeration to say that the practical ability of German students is miles ahead of us.
And the ability of German students to combine theory with practice is infinitely better than ours.
German students can understand what the masters say as soon as they hear it, but we are still trying to hide it...
When it comes to independent design, the gap between us and others will be even greater.
Because they have in-depth experience of front-line work, they know better what angle to start from.
As for our designers, that’s far behind...
