Chapter 325
Moore and his crew drove their car into the base, but they had no plans to live with these people. To be precise, they had no plans to stay here for long. They would stay here for two days, planning to inquire about the situation nearby and then leave.
The next morning.
Moore got up early, took some food from the supply truck, and sat there watching the people in the base busying themselves.
Soon the little girl got out of the car, took a chocolate bar thrown to her by Moore, tore open the package, took a small bite, and a look of satisfaction appeared on her face.
"Old man, when are we leaving?"
Moore put the last bite in his hand into his mouth and spoke while chewing.
"We're leaving today. We've learned everything we need to know. These guys don't know anything. They're only familiar with the two nearby towns. It would be a waste of time to stay any longer."
The next moment after he finished speaking, there was a sudden noise at the main entrance of the camp, and soon a man with a bloody face rushed in and ran into the pharmacist's room with a panicked expression.
Moore pushed himself up with both hands, jumped out of the car, patted his bags and walked towards the RV.
"Alan, come with me and take a look. I wonder how the old man is doing."
"Okay, wait a moment."
Soon Alan stuck his head out of the back window, and he could vaguely see a shirtless man sitting next to him.
Moore rolled his eyes. Needless to say, he knew that the person next to him was definitely Eric. Although he did not object to their relationship, he still felt uncomfortable. Seeing that Alan had heard it, he moved away and looked around.
Suddenly, there was another commotion in the pharmacist's room, and the man who had just rushed in rushed out of the room in panic. He covered his neck with his hands and shouted in fear.
"Alejandro has turned into a zombie! Everything is over, we are dead!"
The man stood there with lifeless eyes, completely unprepared for the zombies that rushed out of the house behind him. The zombie-like pharmacist bit him directly on the other side of the neck.
The man screamed and repeated what he had just said, as if he had suddenly lost the courage to live.
Many people rushed out from the surrounding houses. They saw this scene for the first time. However, everyone's reaction was exactly the same, except for Nick and Moore who walked forward.
At this time, Moore had already walked up to the man. He touched his waist, and the next second a dagger with a cold glow had pierced into the pharmacist's eye socket. The latter fell and lay on the man.
"No!"
Luciana had obviously just put on her clothes. She rushed out behind Nick and saw Moore using a knife to kill the pharmacist. She was still confused and wanted to draw her gun immediately. Fortunately, Nick was quick to act.
"Don't shoot, it's Alejandro who has turned into a zombie!"
"No, it's impossible! He is immune!"
Moore just raised his eyelids and said jokingly.
"Yeah, immune shit."
Ignoring several hostile looks, he pulled the pharmacist's body aside. The man who had been attacked before had already lost consciousness.
Mor slapped his face and asked loudly.
"What's your urgent matter?"
Seeing that the man didn't react, he increased his strength again and slapped him.
The man felt pain and finally showed a little reaction, his blurred eyes finally had some focus.
Moore took the opportunity to repeat his question, and the man finally remembered the purpose of his trip. He said a few words weakly and then died.
The matter was simple. Because of Nick and Luciana's relationship, the bandit leader in the supermarket wanted to attack them, and the other family with him were all captured. The other party would soon know their location.
Luciana summoned people with a painful look on her face, wanting to dispose of the two bodies, but no matter how she persuaded them, those people were unwilling to step forward, a man said hatefully.
"Lucy, we respect you very much, but this cannot erase the fact that we have been deceived by this guy for so long!"
"Is this the time to worry about these things?"
"Why not? Don't you understand? Everything is over. The world is over. There is no hope!"
The man growled hysterically, his expression twisted and distorted, like a wild beast ready to devour its prey. For a moment, Luciana was so frightened that she stood there in shock.
Moore curled his lips, took out his pistol, took two steps towards the man, and put the muzzle of the gun against his forehead.
"Really? How about I send you to see God now?"
As he spoke, he moved his fingers and the pistol made a clicking sound, as if he was about to pull the trigger in the next second.
When the man suddenly faced the threat of death, the ferocity on his face faded away like the tide, replaced by a look of fear. His legs went weak and he fell to the ground.
"Pooh!"
A mouthful of saliva spit out from Moore's mouth. He looked at all the pale-faced people in the audience with contempt and spoke loudly with full confidence.
"Who else wants to die? What's wrong? Are you planning to give up after being cheated? Then I don't mind giving you a ride."
The people who had looked deadpan just now instantly showed expressions of fear like the man. They all took a few steps back, and some children also hid behind the adults.
Luciana took a step forward angrily, trying to snatch his gun, but she heard another sound of weapons being loaded behind her. Turning back, she found that the people in the convoy had stood behind her fully armed, pointing their weapons at everyone present.
With a grin, Moore took back the gun and held it in front of him, seeming very proud to speak again.
"Since you have such a low tolerance, let me tell you another piece of news. The people from the shopping mall you have been in contact with have already found out the location of this place. They will probably bring a large number of people here soon. If you are afraid, then pack up and leave. If you are not afraid of death, you can choose to stay. I will give you some weapons. It is up to you whether you can hold on."
After saying that, he took a few steps back and signaled the others to put away their weapons. Then the group returned to the RV, ate and drank, and prepared to leave.
Lucy and Nick looked at each other and saw an inexplicable meaning in each other's eyes. Nick nodded his head slightly, motioning for the other party to discuss it aside, but unexpectedly, Lucy gritted her teeth and walked towards the crowd.
…
An hour later.
There were several people sitting in the car, including Nick and Moore.
"Mr. Moore, I hope you can give us a hand and help us through this difficult time."
"Tsk, why?"
When Moore heard this, he looked disdainful, as if it had nothing to do with him.
"If you don't help us, all these people will die. Those guys will just kill us. Can you really bear to watch so many people die? Although your words are unpleasant to hear, I still think you are not a person who will not help others in danger. As long as we survive, we will definitely do our best to repay you."
"No, you can escape."
Hearing this reply, Luciana sighed bitterly.
"Where to run to? We all know what the outside world has become. The people here are all honest people who do their job. It's hard for them to even kill a zombie on weekdays. Even if I plan to leave, they won't be willing to leave."
After saying that, she turned her head to look at Nick, who had been silent, and kept giving him looks, which clearly meant that she wanted the latter to say something.
The expression on Nick's face was very strange, as if he had made a decision but didn't know where to start. However, he finally gritted his teeth and spoke.
"Lucy, I know that no one here wants to leave, but have you ever thought about leaving on your own?"
