Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 501: Go Home

Gray snowflakes were still floating in the sky, constantly falling on Charles and Anna. After a while, the two sitting on the steps had turned into two snowmen.

"Phew~" Anna's body split open, and a dozen tentacles stretched out quickly and kept shaking, then retracted quickly.

Anna, who was clean all of a sudden, stood up and pulled Charles' arm, trying to make him stand up. "Let's go, go inside and eat something. You haven't eaten anything since morning."

"Go and eat, I have no appetite." Charles refused in a low voice.

"Then what are you thinking now?" Anna asked.

Staring blankly at the gray snow in front of him, Charles' eyes were full of confusion. After he paused for a long time, he slowly said: "I think a lot, I think about a lot of things before, my mind is very confused now..."

Just as Anna was about to say something, "Da da da da~" The sound of the propeller came from far to near, and the pathfinder came back.

The wind blown up by the propellers blows the ash and snow in all directions, exposing the dry and cracked brown earth.

The pilot on the helicopter rushed towards Charles with something in his arms.

Charles quickly stood up and looked into his arms. It was a long strip worm curled up into a cake. Its shell was not like a shell made of chitin, but like half-melted scarlet flesh. I can't tell it's a bug.

Charles stretched out his prosthetic limb to grab the bug's head, and flicked it violently. The curly body straightened quickly, and the bug's length unexpectedly reached 1.5 meters.

This is not a creature of Earth, at least not a creature of 21st century Earth.

"Where did you get it?" Charles asked hoarsely.

"I picked it up 20 kilometers away from 3 o'clock. It looked dead. 50 meters to the left of the object was a borderless black mist. I didn't dare to go in. There seemed to be something alive in the mist."

Charles nodded and threw the bug back in his hand. "Isolate first, and then have someone dissect the bug to see what's in its stomach."

As the man left with the bug in his arms, more and more helicopters returned quickly, 16 of which went out and 15 came back.

They brought photos of nearby landforms, as well as various special plants and animals. But these things are very different from the creatures on the earth before, weird and twisted.

Charles seemed to have calmed down. He carefully inspected the things brought back by the helicopters. Anna, who was standing beside her with her arms crossed, looked at his back with concern.

Suddenly she saw Charles stop, staring at a photo in his hand motionlessly.

Anna walked over and grabbed the photo with her hand. In the photo is a mountain with no top visible, but on the right side of the mountain there is a faint light shining, a kind of cool-toned light that is different from the dark purple in the sky.

"Someone? Or are there other intelligent creatures?" Anna asked looking at the photo.

Frowning, Charles shook his head, turned and walked towards the airship. "No matter what it is, go and have a look first."

The airship began to change direction and set off towards that side.

The gray snow continued to fall, forming a thick layer on the airbag of the airship.

Although airships are not good at high-speed flight, they are more stable than others.

It didn't take long for Charles, who was standing on the bridge, to see the huge mountain, which stood there motionless full of oppression. Like a sleeping giant.

Charles also saw the light, but this time the color of the light became indigo blue, which further confirmed Anna's guess that the light was not natural light, and under normal circumstances, there would be no such color change.

"Drive over." Following Charles' order, the airship slowly approached there.

At the same time, machine guns and bombs are also in place. If there is really any trouble over there, the armed forces of these five huge floating airships are not vegetarian.

Slowly, the source of that light appeared in front of everyone.

However, the moment Charles saw the thing, he was shocked and shouted: "Everyone get down!! Pull down the sunshade curtains!!"

That light source is the God of Light! He hasn't left the surface!

"Huh, huh, huh~" The black curtain quickly blocked the light coming in from outside.

Charles walked to the window, carefully opened a corner, and looked outside.

The huge body of the God of Light disappeared, leaving only its sun head lying on the ground and moving slowly.

His color was supposed to be bright and warm white, but now he was a strange indigo blue, and it flickered slightly from time to time, a bit like a dead light bulb.

"Binoculars." Charles stretched out his hand behind him.

He grabbed the binoculars in his hands and placed them in front of his eyes, looking at the God of Light.

Soon he discovered that the God of Light did not move by himself, but someone was dragging him to move.

A human who looked extremely small in front of the huge body of the God of Light was pulling him away with some black ropes.

Human beings pull an indigo sun in the gray snow. This scene is both spectacular and weird.

Charles dropped the binoculars, turned around and rushed towards the exit. "Anna, don't follow me, I'll go and have a look first."

But it was obvious that the other party would not listen to him, and just as Charles grabbed the parachute and jumped off, he felt the back of his neck sink, and Anna was already sitting on his shoulders.

"Go back quickly!! I can go alone! I have something to ask the God of Light!"

Anna's legs tightened slightly, "Don't think about it."

The back of her body was cracked, and a few tentacles wrapped around the parachute pulled slightly, and the parachute quickly fell towards the position of the God of Light.

When Charles landed, he had already appeared in front of the God of Light.

Only then did he realize that the person pulling the sun was the Pope, and it was the Pope who used a dozen giant chains that were as thick as two meters in length to put on the God of Light, and pulled Him away with difficulty.

The naked pope's lips were tightly tightened, his eyes were red, and he seemed to be trying not to let himself cry.

"God, please hold on! We'll be going back soon! Let's go home!!" The pope, who was tugging on the chain, cried out loudly, his voice seemed to be full of endless grievances.

With a "snap", the light on the God of Light exploded, leaving only pure blue on his body, and this color became even lighter, almost on the verge of extinguishing.

"Ledger, forget it, I'm dying, don't waste time..." A female voice with endless exhaustion suddenly sounded.

Hearing this, the pope finally couldn't bear it anymore, and he began to cry. Tears fell down big and big. But even so, he did not let go of the chains on his body, and was still pulling with all his strength.

"God! Please, please don't leave me!! You can let me do anything!!"

Standing by the side, Charles opened his eyes wide and looked at the scene before him in shock. The God of Light, who almost exterminated the humans in Earthsea, was about to die just by showing his face. What kind of existence could do such a thing?

"Ledger, I'm sorry, I can't fulfill the promise between us, but... Fortunately, you have nothing to lose, goodbye, old friend..."

A sky-blue light shot from the God of Light to the Pope, and his wrinkled and age-spotted body quickly became firm and elastic, which represented that the old white hair quickly turned green and finally turned into a beautiful golden color.

Even as his body dwindled rapidly, his mutilated body was completely repaired, and eventually the pope's body reverted to that of a ten-year-old boy.

But at the same time, the light on the God of Light became increasingly dimmer, and he seemed to be using his last strength to rejuvenate the pope.

When Charles saw this, he became anxious, the God of Light was about to die, but he still had many things to ask him.

"Wait! What the hell is going on here? How did the surface become like this!! Who hurt you?"

The body of the God of Light suddenly brightened and emitted an extremely dazzling blue light, and the loud voice resounded throughout the Gobi. "They lied to me! They lied to us all!"

"Crack~!" The God of Light exploded into all kinds of bright lights. After a few seconds, as all the light receded, the huge God of Light disappeared completely.

The recovered young Ledger put down the chain in his hand, and walked in front of the God of Light in a daze.

Suddenly his legs gave way and he knelt down on the ground, crying loudly. At this time, he was no different from the one who was besieged by teenagers 120 years ago, desperate and helpless.

Charles and Anna stood aside, looking at everything in front of him, suddenly Charles moved, his prosthetic limb turned into a chain saw and spun rapidly, and he walked straight towards the Pope.

Facing Charles' move, the Pope didn't make any move, still knelt on the spot and cried in despair.

Anna's tentacles grabbed Charles, "Let him live, you're just helping him out by killing him now."

The crying pope crawled on the ground, crawled forward slowly, and finally crawled to the position where the God of Light disappeared and curled up into a ball. "God... I feel your temperature, you didn't go, right..."

"What are you going to do next? Continue to search for your family on the surface?" Anna asked.

Charles lowered his raised hand, and he looked up at the hazy dark purple in the sky.

Suddenly he stretched out his hand, grabbed Anna's right hand and walked towards the airship, his voice was no longer excited or hesitant.

"No, I won't look for it anymore. My family is not on the surface. My family is now in Earthsea. Anna, let's go home. My family needs my help. As for here... whoever wants to come here bring it on."
