Chapter 523 Kyle's Dark History
The next day, the weekend.
Early in the morning, Kyle sat at the table with a serious face and ate breakfast.
"What's wrong with you?"
Cedric asked curiously: "Looking at you, it feels like you are about to compete in the second event."
"To be honest, I would rather start the second event today." Kyle sighed and said: "By the way, can you dance?"
"Yes." Cedric said casually: "My father took me to several dances before, and I learned it specially... Why, don't you know how to dance?"
"Why do you all think I should know how to dance."
Kyle bit a piece of bread in boredom, "If I know how to dance, I don't have to worry so much."
"Puff..." Cedric's facial muscles were tense, trying hard to restrain himself from laughing.
It was the first time he saw Kyle look so embarrassed, which was very interesting.
"It's... not difficult." Cedric tried to make his voice sound the same as usual, "Just follow the music... I just saw the latest notice in the hall, saying that Professor McGonagall will hold a club for the dance at 10 am, you can go and have a look."
"You mean that? In fact, I'm the first to sign up." Kyle said.
Cedric laughed even harder, covering his mouth with his hands to prevent the laughter from coming out.
In fact, he didn't want to do this, but somehow, his mind was full of the picture of Kyle stepping on his partner's shoes at the dance, and he couldn't help it.
There was no way, Cedric could only make an excuse to find Qiu, quickly leave the table, and run to the Ravenclaw table next to him.
Because Kyle was thinking about the next club, he didn't find anything wrong, just thought he wanted to invite Qiu to the dance.
The news that the Christmas dance would be held had spread, and now everyone was discussing it. More students registered to stay in school than ever before, as if everyone except those first-year students chose to stay in Hogwarts.
The girls gathered in groups of three or five, excitedly exchanging opinions and discussing what to wear on Christmas Eve.
The boys also acted serious. Ryan pinned a brooch on his clothes. Before that, Kyle had never seen him wear this thing.
After a while, a curly-haired girl came over.
"Kyle, can you go to the dance with me?"
"Oh... sorry." Kyle came back to his senses and said, "I already have a partner."
"Is that so?" The girl left with a disappointed look.
She was not the first one. In the next ten minutes, several more girls came, from every college, but they all got the same answer.
Kyle originally wanted to wait in the auditorium until the club started, but seeing the current situation, he gave up the idea and got up to go back to the common room.
...
At ten o'clock, Kyle arrived at the auditorium on time, and Connor and Cedric also came.
"Don't you know how to dance? Why did you come with us?" Kyle looked at Cedric in confusion and asked.
"Ahem, nothing." Cedric pretended to be calm and said, "I just haven't danced for a long time. I want to get familiar with it again, so as not to embarrass myself."
Kyle nodded, said nothing more, took a deep breath and pushed open the door of the auditorium.
This place had been arranged in advance by Professor McGonagall. The long table was moved to the side, leaving only rows of chairs, and many people were already sitting on them.
When Kyle walked over, his steps were extremely heavy, as if he was under a leg-locking spell.
And where he couldn't see, Cedric and the Weasley brothers were trying hard to hold back their smiles, their faces full of expectations.
When they arrived, Professor McGonagall closed the door with her wand and said, "Dancing is simple... smart, every girl has a swan in her heart, and every boy has a lion eager to try in his heart..."
It is no exaggeration to say that this was the most difficult two hours for Kyle so far.
In fact, dancing is not difficult, at least it is much simpler than what Newt taught, but the problem is that before he learned to dance, he was called up by Professor McGonagall to demonstrate... and then stepped on her three times.
Kyle could even clearly see Professor McGonagall's increasingly dark complexion, and Fred and George's undisguised laughter beside him.
Needless to say, they would not let go of their dark history for a long time.
This was indeed the case. In the next few days, Fred's favorite thing was to imitate Kyle's clumsy movements and step on George's feet during meals.
Kyle could only pretend that he saw nothing, mainly because he had no other choice. Who made him have such two friends?
It is worth mentioning that the professors of Hogwarts seemed to want to show the best of the castle to the people of the other two schools.
So a few days before Christmas, the handrails of the castle stairs were hung with icicles that would never melt.
The twelve Christmas trees in the auditorium were also decorated with various small gadgets, from shiny holly berries to golden owls that kept chirping.
It was just a pity for Kyle that the professors did not seem to be planning to let the ghosts serve as Christmas tree decorations this time... He always thought that was the most interesting thing.
A Christmas tree covered in ghosts is sure to impress guests who come from afar.
And as Christmas gets closer, the castle becomes more lively. The girls always act together, and every time one of them receives an invitation, the others all burst into laughter.
After a Charms class, Kyle met Harry in the corridor, but he didn't come to see him.
"Uh...Qiu Zhang, can I say a word to you?" He held the hem of his robe with both hands and said nervously.
"Of course, just tell me if you have anything to do."
"Uh... can you just... go to the dance with me..." Harry asked hesitantly, his voice was so low that Kyle almost didn't hear what he said.
"I'm sorry, Harry." Qiu shook her head, "I already promised Cedric..."
Kyle was surprised to find that Harry's face was turning red at an incredible speed, as if someone had taken a brush and applied red paint to his face.
"Oh, okay, it's okay," Harry said, pretending to be relaxed, and then turned around and left quickly.
"I'm really sorry." Qiu said again.
But Harry didn't hear it. In just a blink of an eye, he disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
Kyle smacked his lips and could only say that he was indeed the most talented seeker in Hogwarts. He was really fast.
"It's always been like this lately. I really hope Christmas can come soon." On the way to the auditorium, Qiu looked at Kyle and said, "Strange, why didn't I see anyone inviting you?"
"It's just not there anymore," Kyle said.
There were quite a few people inviting him a few days ago. After Professor McGonagall's club, several senior girls offered to teach him how to dance... but Kyle refused.
With the level of their three-legged cats, Professor McGonagall is nowhere near as professional as they are. He now has to be trained alone by Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick for three hours every day after dinner, and sometimes Nearly Headless Nick will also provide guidance.
This ghost who always likes to toss his head like a fan is actually quite accomplished in dancing... but when he does the head-tossing action, it's a little more scary.
