Chapter 1875: The Madman's Journey (Fifty-Three)
Chapter 1849 The Journey of a Madman (Fifty-three)
"Is the robot you built able to move?"
Schiller strode into the cave entrance and looked at Stark. The serious expression on his face made Stark hold back his question. He was about to answer when Schiller said quickly, "The nearby anti-government bases have all been bombed. It is no longer safe here. The locals are organizing an evacuation."
"If you want to leave, now is the best opportunity. You can use your robot to rob a supply truck and drive south. When you reach the territory controlled by the government forces, they will send you back to the United States."
After that, Schiller began to pack up in the cave. Stark stood there. When Schiller bent down to pick up his coat, he saw a black gun pointed at him from the corner of his eye.
"Who are you?" Stark asked, staring at Schiller.
Schiller let go of his coat, slowly stood up, his hands hanging on both sides of his body, looked at Stark and said: "I told you a long time ago that I am not your savior, nor your friend."
"Answer my question, Dr. Schiller." Stark just stared at Schiller's eyes from behind the gun.
"Do you think this will work?" Schiller took a step forward, but Stark, who was holding a hot weapon, took a step back. Schiller tilted his head slightly and squinted his eyes and said: "Did anyone tell you anything?"
"Answer me!" Stark almost roared.
"I'm a killer, my job is to kill you, so can you put the gun down now and stop struggling in vain?"
Schiller's tone was so flat that Stark couldn't tell whether he was joking or serious, but he was very sure that the small pistol in his hand with only two bullets might not pose a fatal threat to Schiller even at such a close distance. If what Schiller said was true, he would be dead today.
"Then why didn't you kill me right from the start?"
"You've become a bit annoying." Schiller turned around and went back to pick up his coat. He ignored Stark's anger and said to himself, "But if you don't want to go back to the United States, then pack up your stuff quickly and we'll follow the main force to evacuate."
Stark slowly put down his gun, walked back to the lab table quickly, stretched out his arm and tapped a button.
With a "crash", an arm stretched out from the scrap pile. When the robot, which had only half of its body exposed, raised its head, its eyes flashed with scarlet light.
Schiller looked back at the huge robot that slowly stood up from the scrap pile. It was a huge cave for humans, but it was a bit cramped for it. It could only half-kneel on the ground and stretched out its hand to Stark.
Stark turned around and looked at Schiller and said, "Do you regret not killing me earlier? Huh?"
Schiller's eyes lit up slightly as he looked at the huge robot. Stark found that he looked at the robot very seriously from head to toe. His focused eyes reminded Stark of a child squatting in front of a shopping mall shelf looking at robot toys.
Suddenly, Schiller turned his head and looked outside the cave.
"Hurry up, we don't have time." Schiller hurriedly picked up his things, and Stark had to pack up some important equipment immediately. He looked back at the huge robot he built, and followed Schiller to the cave entrance.
"Are you going to leave it here?"
"I can start it at any time, it will fly, and the speed is definitely much faster than you think."
Schiller turned his head and looked at him and said, "You can try to kill me and everyone here with it."
"I'm not you, I'm not a killer."
The two left the cave one after the other. The local bearded man looked at Schiller, then looked at Stark who was following him, and said nothing, waved his hand and asked them to get on a truck.
Schiller was driving, and Stark was in the passenger seat. As soon as he got in the car, Stark turned to Schiller and said, "Are you a Hydra? I thought this kind of antique organization had been eliminated long ago."
Schiller looked up at the direction of the bomber in the sky, turned the steering wheel and said, "Any terrorist organization in this world will last longer than you think."
"Tell me what's going on?" Stark looked at the smoke and dust rising from the explosion of the missile in the distance and said, "Government forces, rebels, the US military, Hydra, mercenaries, what are they doing here?"
Schiller, who was busy driving, turned his head and looked at Stark, and fell silent.
Stark hit the car window hard, opened his mouth and raised his voice, saying, "You can't keep me in the dark, it will make me feel that everything is related to me!"
"Shut up." Schiller narrowed his eyes and looked out the window on the other side.
Suddenly, the sound of a grenade swooshed from outside the car window, and Schiller suddenly turned the steering wheel, and Stark's head hit the car window glass hard.
Blood blurred the vision of one eye, but Stark still looked in the direction of Schiller's sight. He saw a familiar logo, the logo of the mercenary corps where Eric was.
Several off-road vehicles and pickup trucks chased their car and seemed to want to overtake from the side to intercept. Schiller pushed the gear lever hard and stepped on the accelerator, and the truck rushed out at full horsepower.
"What's going on? Why are they chasing us?!" Stark said, holding his aching forehead.
"Can't you be quiet for a while?!" Schiller raised his voice, which was rare, and shouted at Stark.
"But I want to know what the hell is going on! Tell me now! Otherwise, I will continue to bother you in hell!!!"
Schiller drove silently and quickly left the pursuers behind. After about 20 minutes, Schiller braked suddenly, and Stark almost knocked out his front teeth. He looked up and found that the car had driven to a cliff, surrounded by dense forests and cliffs.
Rumbling thunder came from afar, and the dense dark clouds were very low. The water vapor in the air indicated that heavy rain was coming.
Schiller and Stark pushed open the car door and got out, running quickly towards the side of the rock wall. Stark said as he ran, "This is not a solution. I'll call Iron Wall No. 1 over."
"No, follow me."
Schiller took Stark through the mountains quickly, and soon they came to the other side of the huge cliff. After pushing aside the bushes, Stark saw a familiar military logo on the cliff. It was a huge laboratory door.
Schiller went to the operating table and operated it. The door opened quickly. He walked into the door and waved to Stark, who walked in hesitantly.
Then he found that this was an abandoned base. There was dust everywhere he looked. After walking in, the tables and chairs fell crookedly on the ground, and there were suspicious bloodstains on the wall.
"Where is this?"
"An abandoned laboratory." Schiller moved a chair and sat down, and Stark sat opposite him.
"Now you can tell me what's going on, right?"
"They want your brain."
Stark was stunned.
"Who?" he asked in surprise.
"Everyone."
"Someone leaked the news that you are still alive." Schiller said concisely: "The public thinks you are dead, and the Afghan terrorists are responsible for your death, but if you are not actually dead, it means that they can get you without taking the responsibility of kidnapping."
Stark did not understand for a while, but he soon realized that the purpose of these people was no different from that of this group of terrorists.
Simply put, kidnapping or killing Tony Stark requires a huge pressure that almost no one in the world can bear, because Stark represents a class.
If someone dares to use such violent means to attack the world's largest capitalist, then other people belonging to this class will not let the murderer go, and they must let them die ugly as a deterrent to ensure their own safety.
But the current situation is that the murderer is definitely an Afghan terrorist, and the Stark Group and other capitalists have begun to retaliate, which proves the death of Tony Stark's social identity.
This means that Stark no longer has social value, and only his genius brain is left. As long as he can be kidnapped, he can be controlled to work for himself for a lifetime, and there is no need to pay any price. After all, a person cannot die twice, and the Afghan terrorists have already paid the price.
Stark opened his eyes wide and looked at Schiller and said, "So they are all trying to kidnap me?"
Schiller looked up at him and said nothing. Stark raised his head and sighed, "Well, Stark is so popular, the most popular party star in the world, huh?"
"Wait." Stark suddenly realized something, and he said, "Who spread the news that I am still alive?"
"It can't be that group of terrorists. They are still counting on me to make weapons for them. It is impossible for them to take the initiative to attract others to rob me."
Stark was about to ask Schiller if it was him, but Schiller looked at him with the eyes of an idiot, and then Stark reacted that Schiller was also one of those who came into contact with him. Like that group of terrorists, he was already a winner, and there was no need to add competitors to himself.
At this moment, Eric's anxious expression flashed through his mind. Stark's facial features were tightly together, and he muttered to himself: "I just feel that something is wrong. If he can't understand what I want to do, it means that he is not a hero. In this case, why must he take me away?"
Then Stark remembered that Schiller had said before that this group of mercenaries were doing dirty work for the military, so it is possible that they would hunt him down on behalf of the military.
In connection with the screams from Eric's intercom before, his mercenary organization was silenced, so who silenced them? And why silenced them?
If the news that Stark was still alive was spread by Eric, everything would be explained. The military did not want to silence the mercenary organization, but Eric.
Because it was Eric who told the military the news, Eric knew that the military knew that Stark was alive. Only if Eric died could the military shirk its responsibilities and say that it was not aware of it.
"Have you heard of the Ten Rings?" Schiller suddenly said.
Stark was slightly stunned, then shook his head after recalling it. Schiller lowered his head to straighten his trouser legs and said, "Remember you asked those locals to find the Stark Group's missiles?"
Stark nodded, and Schiller continued, "There aren't many areas that have been bombed, and there weren't many people who had just exchanged fire. They found a place along the ruts of the car you drove before, where there are shrapnel from the Stark Group missile."
"That's where I was attacked for the first time!" Stark said anxiously, "Did they find the complete missile? Did they bring it back?"
"They don't need to find the complete missile anymore." Schiller took something out of his jacket pocket and handed it to Stark.
When Stark took the thing, he was shocked by the strange feel. He looked down and saw that it was a piece of tattooed human skin.
"This is the tattoo of the Ten Rings. It was the Ten Rings that kidnapped you."
"Then who ordered them?"
"The Ten Rings is an organization that is often active in the border areas of Asia, with bases in Afghanistan and Mexico."
"Mexico..." Stark muttered as he lowered his head to look at the pattern. He closed his eyes in some pain, but finally said: "Obadiah...Obadiah went to Mexico twice before I came to Afghanistan, and we had no business dealings there."
But Schiller changed the subject and said in Stark's shocked eyes: "Yes, but their attack was unsuccessful, and the second attack on you was by Hydra, that is, me."
