Chapter 276: Unpopular Subjects
"Let's go back and watch the surveillance." Cen Lian looked at the time, "Don't tell Qi Da and the others about your suspicions. It's hard to say what the case is about."
It's not that he doesn't believe Wang Yuanteng's statement, but this is the territory of the Liangzhou Municipal Bureau. It's easy to get beaten if you say that there is a problem without any evidence.
Wang Yuanteng certainly understood what Cen Lian meant, so he said, "Let's go back and discuss with others first, and then talk after watching the surveillance."
Wu Qiushan looked around and said, "You two are talking in a low voice in this deserted place. Do you think the grasshoppers on the ground will eavesdrop?"
"I'm used to it," Cen Lian cleared his throat, "Let's go back first. I guess Qi Yan and the others will be back soon."
Qi Yan and Tang Hua set out to see the scene early in the morning. It has been six or seven hours now. If there is nothing, it's about time to come back.
When Cen Lian and the other two took a taxi back to the hotel, they saw Tang Hua and Qi Yan just entered the door and were talking about something.
"What a coincidence, you two are back too," Cen Lian said hello, "Let's go up and talk."
At four o'clock in the afternoon, the eight members of the support team gathered neatly in Cen Lian's room. The bed and the stool were full of people, which seemed a bit crowded.
"The Liangzhou City Bureau is next door, why don't we go to their meeting room?" Qu Zihan squeezed in the corner and asked a soul-searching question.
"There is something wrong, it's not convenient to go there," Cen Lian cleared his throat and told everyone what Wang Yuanteng had found, "I tend to think they are a more mature gang, and they have spies in the public security system of Liangzhou City."
Cen Lian was basically sure that there were no problems with the middle and high-level of the Liangzhou City Public Security System, otherwise there would be ways to deal with this case. After all, the video only captured human bones hitting tourists, and they could just find an excuse that the tomb was destroyed and everything was an accident to get away with it, but both Liangzhou City and Long Province were ready to investigate thoroughly, indicating that they took this case very seriously.
"What kind of gang is this?" Tang Hua was confused. "How come we have been walking for the whole morning and the whole afternoon, but now we are a little behind when we come back?"
He and Qi Yan didn't know about the autopsy in the morning and what happened to Wang Yuanteng at noon, and now they both looked confused.
"It's not certain what it is for now," Cen Lian said, looking at Qi Yan, "Brother Qi, did you find anything this time?"
"The place where the bone fragments were found should be far away from the first crime scene. I made a simple calculation based on the weather and wind speed on the day the remains were found. These bones were probably blown from the northeast, so Tang Hua and I drove to that direction and searched briefly, but found nothing." Qi Yan said bluntly, "The surrounding vegetation environment is too similar, but when we passed by, we saw wheat fields that had just been harvested and corn that had just been planted. I was thinking whether these plants could have left something on the body."
"Yes, there is," Wu Qiushan looked at Qi Yan hesitantly, "but I have only learned some relevant theoretical knowledge and have not actually operated it. I may need to find experts in this field to help."
They have heard teachers mention the use of plant lineage distribution to find the crime scene in class and lectures, but because there are too few opportunities for practical operation, most people remain in theory.
"We have also learned a little about this, and there are also not many opportunities for practical practice," Lin, a forensic doctor, looked at Wu Qiushan, "Everyone knows about botany, a rare subject that requires adjustments to recruit students. Not many colleges and universities have time to engage in interdisciplinary studies with our public security system, so most of us forensic doctors only know about subjects like forensic botany from textbooks."
"It's the same for us," Wu Qiushan spread his hands, "but I know that there are schools in our province that have botanical experts who sometimes come to help at the invitation of the provincial department and the municipal bureau. We can try to contact them."
There is a relatively well-known agricultural university in Yunling Province. Cen Lian had not known about it before, but now he thinks it is reliable after hearing what Wu Qiushan said.
"The distribution of plants in the Gobi Desert is relatively monotonous. If we can find that the body has stayed in some special environment for a long time, it will be a very effective clue." Cen Lian immediately looked at Wu Qiushan, "Then I'll leave this matter to you, hurry up and get someone."
The corners of Wu Qiushan's mouth twitched, and he went out to get someone.
