Chapter 11 The Safest Place
"You actually know French?" the girl asked in surprise.
"Only a little bit. During the summer vacation, one of my... teachers suggested that I learn some French." William said.
His French is not very standard and proficient, and he can only communicate in the simplest oral language, but for a twelve-year-old child, it is not bad.
Who told the beautiful and outrageous young lady opposite to only "Hello" and "Sorry".
While William was chatting with the girl, Dumbledore and Maxim took a little distance.
"Sorry, Furong doesn't quite control her talent yet."
Although Madame Maxime was apologizing, there was no apology in her tone.
"But it really surprises me, that child can actually not be charmed by Furong."
Children with Veela blood will unconsciously develop a certain charm as they grow older.
This ability needs to be learned to control, and Furong obviously can't do it yet. She will always emit magic unconsciously, so that when others see her, she will be sluggish or embarrassed.
Few underage wizards could resist, but William was completely unaffected.
"The mixed blood of Veela and wizard will make the child's journey on the wizard's path smoother. You have an excellent student." Dumbledore smiled, without mentioning the meaning of the purifying potion.
"So, this kid really caught a Death Eater, by his own strength?"
"If it's a fake replacement."
Maxim thoughtfully asked, "Did Karkaroff contact you?"
"Well, he said something, and he can't come to the Merlin Medal banquet for the time being." Dumbledore regretted.
"A coward." Maxim said disdainfully, "He was just frightened by the Death Eaters who appeared at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
Dumbledore smiled helplessly. Maxim's words satirized the two of them at the same time. She was really a ruthless woman.
"Then let's go first and talk later." Maxim said, waving at Furong.
Dumbledore nodded.
"I'm leaving, Madame Maxime is calling me." Furong shook her waterfall-like silver hair.
"Oh, of course," said William, looking very strange, in French with a London accent.
Furong couldn't help laughing, she smiled like a flower. "You need to learn more French."
"My mother helped me find a tutor who spent two years in France." William laughed. "But she's certainly not as good at French as you are."
"Well, that's true!" Furong put her hands behind her back, took a few steps forward quickly, and suddenly turned her head and asked, "Can you give me your address? Otherwise, how should I send you a letter, um... tutoring in French? "
The girl turned over her pockets.
"Write on my clothes. Oh, and I don't have a pen."
William was stunned for a moment, with a bright smile on his face, "This is simple."
He took two steps forward, and a fragrance came from the girl.
He reached out his hand and boldly removed two long silver hairs from Fleur's gorgeous robe.
He slid his wands over his right hand, and with a light touch, turned one into a parchment with the Hogwarts crest, and the other into a gorgeous golden quill.
Furong covered her mouth in surprise, and Maxim's eyes flickered.
This kind of transformation is not something that a first-year wizard can have. In fact, even Furong can't do it so easily.
William wrote beautifully cursive writing on the parchment and handed it to the girl.
"goodbye."
"goodbye!"
After the four separated, Dumbledore laughed: "Did Nick let you learn French?"
"Yes." William nodded honestly: "Mr. Lemay also suggested that I go to Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as an exchange student."
During summer vacation,
William and the old man in Devon communicated a lot of letters, and the other party gave him a lot of advice, including some of the old man's early notes, but most of them were written in French.
Nick Lemay is French, and if you want to understand it, you have to learn French first.
Fortunately, Lyanna knew a lot of professors, so she found a teacher who could speak French to help her with tutoring.
William also got to know Beauxbatons during the summer vacation, so that he could recognize Madame Maxime at a glance.
But where can a French teacher be better than Fleur Delacour?
How bad is it!
"Nick suggested the same to me." Dumbledore showed a trance.
"Then have you gone?"
"No." Dumbledore shook his head sadly: "At that time, because of some family affairs, I had to go home often on weekends and couldn't go to Beauxbatons."
William wanted to ask something else, but Dumbledore didn't say more, but took him and chatted with the two wizards.
One of them was Gusl Damakiban and the other was Tiberius Ogden.
They were all very old wizards, well-respected, and members of the Wizengamot, perfect for networking.
When William returned to his seat, the banquet had already begun.
The house-elves in the kitchen seemed to pull out all the stops. All kinds of dishes are placed in front of them, half of them are foreign flavors.
William forked a piece of bacon, and he was starving.
"Brother." Annie leaned over and was about to tell him something when her nose twitched, and like a cat, she sniffed at his hand.
"You have a special fragrance on your hands!"
"Is there?" William pretended to be puzzled. "Probably it was on Professor Dumbledore. He sprayed a lot of strong perfume, which made my nose hurt, this person!"
Hermione and Annie looked at each other, both squinting suspiciously.
"Have you got the gold coin chocolate?" William looked at the twins.
"Of course!" Fred exclaimed excitedly, "The three of us sneaked into the kitchen just now. The gold coin chocolate was made by those house elves. We asked them for a lot."
George said happily: "I will write the advertisement when I go back. This kind of gold coin chocolate will definitely be popular."
"That's good!"
The banquet was finally over in the evening.
William and Hermione's family did not go back immediately, but used Floo powder by the fireplace and went to Diagon Alley from the Leaky Cauldron.
William needs to replenish some potion materials, and by the way, buy a new cauldron, and Hermione needs to buy a pet.
At that time, Professor McGonagall only brought her to buy textbooks and some necessary items, and did not buy pets.
William also needs to deposit his two thousand Galleons in Gringotts, which is a huge sum of money for him.
To this end, he will open a private treasury.
In the evening, Diagon Alley was more lively, but everyone just watched a few casually and went straight to Gringotts.
Gringotts is a snow-white building towering high above the surrounding shops. Next to the shiny bronze gate, stands a goblin in a scarlet and gold uniform.
William has face blindness, and he can't tell whether the goblin who greeted the guests is the one he came here for the first time.
To him, every goblin looks the same.
Hermione looked at Gringotts. This was her second visit to Diagon Alley, the last time she had been brought by Professor McGonagall.
But she was still curious, after all, this is the "safest place" in the magic world.
No one has ever been able to steal this underground vault.
