Chapter 59: Principal's Office
Kyle and Connor returned to the castle not long after.
After they left, Hagrid sat in the cabin and thought until the evening. Finally, he decided to follow Kyle's advice and send Fluffy to the Forbidden Forest, and tonight.
Although he was reluctant, there was no other way. First of all, doing so would make Fluffy feel better.
If Fluffy was happy, he would be happy too.
In addition, he had thought about it. Kyle was right. The situation outside was indeed very tense.
Earlier, Professor Oren of Defense Against the Dark Arts complained to him when he came to the Forbidden Forest to look for teaching materials. After the Daily Prophet came out today, the Ministry of Magic sent almost all strikers to search for those magical animals whose origins could not be found in order to show their attention to this matter.
As a result, he couldn't even buy the teaching materials for class, so he had to catch them in the Forbidden Forest himself.
Hagrid remembered that when Professor Oren said this, he was almost furious and cursed Fudge as a fool in the Forbidden Forest.
At that time, Hagrid just thought it was funny, but now thinking about it, he regretted not cursing along.
Because he bought Fluffy in the bar, and there were quite a few people around at that time.
Although those people didn't know what they bought, if one of them was caught by the striker, they would definitely insist that he bought a magical creature in order to get away with it.
Anyway, for those people, if they guessed right, they would make meritorious service, and if they guessed wrong, they would not lose anything, so why not do it.
So for Fluffy's safety and to avoid causing trouble for Dumbledore, he could only send Fluffy away.
Those strikers would not search the Forbidden Forest.
Of course, if they wanted to, Hagrid would definitely not stop them.
There was no need for that.
There were even werewolves and manticores deep in the Forbidden Forest, so what was so strange about having an extra three-headed dog.
On the other side, Kyle, who had returned to the castle, was sitting in the corner of the common room, picking and choosing among the pile of guardian branches.
"I wanted to ask just now." Kanna looked at Kyle's actions and asked curiously, "Why are you picking up these dead branches? There are obviously a lot of them in the kitchen. You can take them anytime you want."
"It's different. This is a guardian branch." Kyle explained, "The guardian tree is a magical mountain pear tree that can protect people who touch its trunk from attacks by dark creatures."
Kanna blinked. Of course she knew this, but what does it have to do with Kyle picking up branches?
Branches, trunks... these are completely different things.
"I... forget it, you'll know later."
Kyle picked out a straight wooden stick and put it aside, and asked casually, "By the way, how did you know there were branches in the kitchen? Have you eaten there?"
The kitchen is so close, Kyle must have been there, but every time he just walked near the door, he was surrounded by the group of house elves.
The stove is located further inside, and if you want to see the whole picture, you can only sit at those long tables.
With the enthusiasm of those house elves, if you don't eat there, you basically can't get there.
Because when you walk halfway, they can hang a whole cow on you.
"I'm not, I didn't, don't talk nonsense..."
Somehow, Connor's face turned red, and she stammered: "I, I'm just curious, I went to the kitchen to take a look!"
"Is that so."
Kyle didn't care, and was still picking those guardian branches. When he finally sorted them out, he found that Connor didn't know when to go back to the dormitory.
And he was the only one left in the common room. Kyle remembered that tomorrow was the weekend, and he simply packed up and went back to the dormitory.
He didn't plan to stay up late.
For Hufflepuff, tomorrow's weekend is a big day, because the Quidditch game has started, and the first game is them against Slytherin.
The next day.
In order to cheer for their college team, the badgers got up before eight o'clock. After breakfast, they put on neat school uniforms and went to the Quidditch field on time with the cheering flags they had prepared before.
Kyle was one of them, but after breakfast, a fat ghost suddenly floated in front of him.
"Hello, Kyle, I hope I didn't disturb you while you were having breakfast."
"Hello, monk." Kyle responded politely, "Would you like to watch Quidditch together? This year, Hufflepuff has a great chance of winning."
"No, in fact, I prefer Gobstone." The fat monk said with some regret, "It's a pity that Hogwarts cancelled this competition decades ago."
"Sorry, monk." Kyle said quickly, "I hope I didn't ruin your mood today."
"Of course not, kid." The fat monk said with a smile, "The best thing about being a ghost is that nothing is worse than this, you don't have to care at all.
But you may have to wait a little longer to watch the game. Dumbledore has something to talk to you about. He is in the principal's office on the eighth floor. The password is butter peanut candy."
Dumbledore is looking for me?
This surprised Kyle a little. He asked curiously, "Father, do you know why the principal wants to see me?"
"I don't know." The fat monk shook his head and said, "I'm just helping to pass on the message."
"Okay, I'll go now. Goodbye, monk."
After saying goodbye to the fat monk, Kyle went straight to the eighth floor.
He would definitely go if the principal came to see him, just hope he didn't miss the Quidditch game.
Although he had never been to the principal's office before, Kyle quickly found the ugly stone beast with his familiarity with the map.
"Butter Peanut Candy." Kyle read out the password.
Then the stone beast jumped to the side, and the wall behind it split in half, revealing a spiral staircase behind it.
The staircase moved slowly upwards, like an escalator.
Kyle stood on it and followed the stairs to an oak door with a door knocker in the shape of a griffon.
Kyle knocked on a door with some trepidation, and the door knocker seemed to come alive, flapping its wings and slowly pulling the door open.
It can only be said that it is worthy of being the principal's office, and this way of opening the door is much better than knocking on a wooden barrel.
Kyle walked into the principal's office and looked around curiously.
The spacious round room was filled with all kinds of funny little noises, and there were many strange silverware on the table, which were rotating and spewing small streams of smoke.
Kyle didn't know what these things were for, but they were definitely not humidifiers.
There was a stone basin with strange symbols on it placed near the wall, and next to it, there was a huge mirror.
The mirror was very impressive, reaching up to the ceiling, with a gleaming golden frame and two claw-shaped feet underneath.
