Hogwarts: I Really Don't Want to Be a Wizard

Chapter 5 Train Savior Meeting

After receiving Dumbledore's reply again, Gretel decided to temporarily put aside the analysis of the magic configuration of the floo network and concentrate on studying the first-year textbooks for young wizards, such as the "Standard Spells (Elementary)" which recorded a lot of interesting magic.

Dumbledore felt that Gretel's current knowledge reserve was still quite poor. Limited to the magical knowledge of young wizards, it was not something that a young wizard who had just come into contact with the magic world for the first time could do to analyze and modify a mature magic.

Even with his help, it was not enough to support the analysis of the floo network configuration in a short period of time, let alone modify and improve it.

In other words, he was now a folk scientist with only ideas but no theories. His ideas were very clear and seemed to make sense, but once he really started, he would only be at a loss.

Of course, the wording in Dumbledore's letter was very euphemistic.

Another advantage of Gretel was that he listened to advice. When he encountered problems in analyzing the magic configuration of the floo network for three consecutive days, Gretel decisively stopped.

But he did not give up, but decided to conduct his own research after he had enough reserves.

Now, there are two most urgent problems facing Gretel. One is solid knowledge.

After getting Dumbledore's notes, he realized his lack of magic knowledge.

For him, a first-year wizard, Dumbledore's notes are really difficult and obscure. Any discussion about magic configuration, verification and speculation of magic theory are like a heavenly book to him.

There are very few parts that he can understand and absorb. Trying to find relevant books in Flourish and Blotts Bookstore has no gain. After all, Flourish and Blotts Bookstore mainly serves young wizards and does not have so many profound books.

Of course, the salesperson said that if there are books that you particularly want to have, you can also place an order with them, and they will help find them, but the price is dozens of Galleons at a time, and Gretel, who is short of money, has to give up.

After all, after the last round of purchases, Dumbledore's Galleons for him are running out, and he can't just pull his neck and let Dumbledore burst gold coins.

Dumbledore seemed to have foreseen his current situation. In several letters, he strongly recommended that he visit the Hogwarts library more often.

The second problem that needed to be solved was what he realized at Flourish and Blotts Bookstore. He lacked sufficient financial foundation.

Even in the Muggle world, a penny could make a hero fall, not to mention that he wanted to do magic research in the magic world. As we all know, research is a bottomless pit.

For him, a little wizard who was almost penniless, research was like a fool's dream.

Even if the initial theoretical research did not require other investment except for a head of hair, once the theory was transformed into practice, the economic problem would become a huge mountain in front of him.

He had to think of some way to make money, at least, before the theory came out, he had to raise enough Galleons to support his research.

But for him, this was not so urgent. After all, he was still young, and in his original life plan, before the age of seventeen or eighteen, his main job was only to study.

Now it was just a matter of changing the learning process in the Muggle world to the magic world.

Although they could not become the orthodox British capitalist Grett in the United States, the Grett family, which started from scratch and became the leading family in the magic world, was not bad.

——

"Hogwarts Express, Platform 9 of King's Cross Station? Mike, my dear child, are wizards so strange even about trains?"

Mrs. Swan knew a few days ago that Hogwarts would start school on September 1st, but it was the first time she saw the ticket.

This morning, she packed up early and was ready to take Grett to the train in person.

When Grett went downstairs and saw Mrs. Swann, he was stunned for a moment, because he saw that Mrs. Swann had changed into a nun's dress that she would only take out from the bottom of the box at Christmas.

The sleeves of the dress were embroidered with the names of all the children who left St. Mary's Orphanage.

As the largest transportation hub in Great Britain, King's Cross Station has an amazing daily passenger throughput.

Grett and Mrs. Swann pushed a small cart and walked through the crowd with difficulty.

"Grett, are you sure your school's train departs from here?" Mrs. Swann asked in confusion.

In Mrs. Swan's eyes, there was no space between Platform 9 and Platform 10 to insert a Platform 9 3/4 that could accommodate a train.

But in Grete's eyes, the fluctuations on the pillars were so obvious, and there were very obvious wheel tracks and big strides on the ground in front of the wall.

There was no doubt that the two had found the right place. This was the platform for the Hogwarts Express.

"Mother Grete, believe me, hold on to me, let's rush over together."

Out of trust in Grete, Mrs. Swan and Grete held the cart tightly together.

The two of them ran together, sprinted, and rushed to another space with a wave without any obstacles.

The two looked up together, and the sign of Platform 9 3/4 welcomed the new blood of the wizarding world, and the express train to Hogwarts stopped at the side of the platform.

Even though it has been running for so many years, its appearance is still bright black, and there is almost no sign of wear and tear.

Mrs. Swan made a prayer gesture and exhaled a long breath.

"Grete, what's wrong with you?" It was only then that Mrs. Swan realized that little Grete's body was a little stiff. Now he was a little like a little hedgehog about to explode, completely different from his usual gentleness.

"I'm fine, Mother Grete, I'm just, well, a little nervous."

Mrs. Swan didn't have the nervousness she had outside the platform, and rubbed his head, "Study hard at school, and write more letters if you have nothing to do."

Grete nodded meekly, but his eyes were fixed on every wizard who passed by him.

After all, given the current situation in the magic world, there are indeed many wizards who discriminate against Muggles. He was worried that some guy would hurt Mrs. Swan, whether it was physical or verbal harm, he would never allow it.

In fact, he didn't want Mrs. Swan to see him off, but Mrs. Swan was so eager that he couldn't say no.

So, he was ready to protect Mrs. Swan, and his wand was already inserted in the most convenient place to take it out.

He even didn't mind letting the little wizard feel his "friendship" for the next seven years.

Of course, no matter how stupid a wizard is, he would not show discrimination or even attack against Muggles next to the Hogwarts Express during the opening season of Hogwarts.

Not to mention, there are Aurors from the Ministry of Magic wandering around.

Fortunately, he didn't encounter any bloody provocations until he got on the train.

After saying goodbye to Mrs. Swan, Gret took out his wand and waved it lightly, and his luggage floated behind him and got on the train with him.

He didn't come early, and there were not many empty seats left along the aisle.

He walked straight to the back of the train until the last few carriages, which seemed a little empty.

"Is anyone there? If no one is there, I'll come in." Gret knocked a few times, but no one answered. He was happy and creaked open the door of the carriage.

On one side is a red-haired boy, who seems to be starving and is stuffing snacks into his mouth. On the other side, a man with round glasses and big eyes is staring at the luggage floating behind his head.

"Excuse me, I'm bothering you." Gretel decisively closed the door and left quickly.

To be honest, he came to Hogwarts to study and didn't want to have anything to do with the legendary savior. After all, that means endless trouble.

The backstage has received a short message from the signing station. Book friends can make a wave of investment.

By the way, I would like to ask for recommendation tickets and follow-up reading. The minimum daily guarantee is two chapters of 4000+. If there are recommendations in the future, I will update it as appropriate.

Small theater:

Harry: Is it a senior?

Ron: I think so. I begged my brother for two months and he didn't teach me magic, so it must be a senior.

Harry: Do you think the way he looks at us is...

Ron: It's like looking at two more troubles.
