Chapter 4 Ollivander

"I told you, just use the wand I gave you. There is no need to buy it."

"You didn't even tell me where you got that wand, so I don't dare use it."

"Meow! Can I still steal it? The wand belongs to the owner! The stolen wand cannot be used! You are also strange. You buy second-hand textbooks, second-hand robes, and even second-hand suitcases. I already have a wand, but I still have to spend money to buy a new one!”

Chris complained, but still couldn't stop Lu Yun from opening the door.

"Hello?" Lu Yunkai greeted the old man in the store who was dressed in fine clothes, with a wrinkled face and a kind smile.

In the past hour or so, Lu Yunkai first exchanged the parchment into a thousand gold galleons at Gringotts, the wizarding bank. Then with this huge sum of money, he basically bought the things requested in the notice in Diagon Alley. All bought.

By the way, he also used the system to check prices in Diagon Alley and found that new products in Diagon Alley were generally about 30% more expensive than what he bought in the system.

The most exaggerated among them are the broomsticks that wizards can ride on, with a premium of more than 50%. The latest broomstick is more than twice as expensive to buy with cash than to buy it in the system...

But second-hand items are about 10% cheaper than buying them in the system.

So he bought all second-hand goods with the attitude of "even if he doesn't use them in the future, he can sell them to the system for recycling."

Of course, this does not include the most important item for a wizard, the wand.

Good steel must be used on the blade.

So he came to the most popular and expensive Ollivander's wand shop in Diagon Alley.

"Little guest, please wait a moment." The old man, Ollivander, the owner of the wand shop, nodded to Lu Yunkai.

A short boy who was already standing in front of the counter in the room turned his head and smiled sheepishly at Lu Yunkai.

He was holding a wand in his hand, and his black hair was a mess.

The wand shop was also a mess.

"Well, this wand obviously doesn't work. Let me take a look..." Ollivander rummaged around on the shelves, pulled out a long cardboard box, took out a wand from it, and handed it to the boy.

The young man took it gingerly and waved it.

boom! Bang!

The entire wand shop seemed to have been detonated, with things flying everywhere.

Lu Yunkai, who was standing at the door, was startled.

"No! Not even this."

Ollivander seemed to feel very sorry for his choice, but he didn't think there was anything wrong with the wand shop being messed up by that boy.

Sure enough, expensive stores are expensive for a reason, and the service is good.

Lu Yunkai silently gave Ollivander a thumbs up.

This time, Ollivander looked for the wand for a long time.

After wandering in front of the messy shelves for a while, he seemed to suddenly remember something, and with a look of enlightenment, he took out a lavender wand box from the top of the shelf, with a weird smile on his face. When he arrived in front of the young man, he handed him the wand inside.

The young man took the wand and a golden light flashed.

"Meow! Did you see it! This is the wand recognizing its owner. It happened when you just picked up the wand. I really don't know what you are doing here!" Chrissy interjected.

"Sure enough. I should have guessed it a long time ago." A smile bloomed on Ollivander's face, "Yes, this wand should have been yours."

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ollivander, I don't understand..." The boy seemed worried.

"The phoenix that gave your wand a tail feather also gave that person's wand a feather. That person did some terrible things. Well, it was indeed terrible, but it was also amazing." Olivan De said to the young man seriously.

Just when the boy was still about to ask something, there was a knock on the door behind Lu Yunkai, and a loud voice sounded outside.

"Harry! Are you okay?"

Lu Yunkai turned around and looked, what a guy!

A giant who was probably three meters tall and had a big beard on his face was knocking on the door of the store. He was also carrying a birdcage in his hand, which contained an owl with snow-white feathers.

"What a beautiful owl..." Lu Yunkai muttered.

"Meow! What's the use of being beautiful! It's useless except sending letters!" Chris complained.

Seeing the giant outside the door, the boy quickly took out a handful of gold Galleons from his pocket, paid for the wand, and left the wand shop.

"Sorry for wasting your time." The young man named Harry said politely as he passed by Lu Yunkai.

"It's okay. Congratulations on buying a good wand." Lu Yun smiled and shook his head. He saw a scar that looked like lightning on the boy's head.

"Thank you." Harry nodded and walked out of the wand shop.

After the young man left, Ollivander went directly to Lu Yunkai without any nonsense, took out a ruler from his sleeve and measured it for Lu Yunkai.

Height, arm length, shoulder width.

He was even more meticulous than when Lu Yunkai just bought a robe at a second-hand robe store.

"My little guest, you are very tall!"

Soon, Ollivander's "measurement" was over, and he took out a wand from his sleeve and waved it.

The pieces of paper and wand boxes that had just fallen to the ground returned to their places one after another.

Ollivander then picked out two wands from the neatly decorated shelves.

"This one, eleven inches, unicorn tail hair core, alder wood." Ollivander introduced the wand and handed it to Lu Yunkai.

The moment Lu Yunkai took the wand, there was a loud bang, and a pile of papers on the counter not far away exploded.

[Estimated price: three Galleons. ]

A shadow flashed.

"No." Ollivander took it back quickly and handed over another one, "Eleven and a quarter inches, dragon tendon core, vine wood."

This time, a gust of wind blew.

Lu Yunkai finally understood why the store was so messy when he just came in.

"Well, this one won't work either." Ollivander shook his head.

But there was no impatience on his face, but a faint smile of excitement.

"Twelve inches, thunderbird feathers, pine wood... um, no."

"Eleven and two-thirds inches, snake sinews, oak... Don't wave it! This one won't work!"

"Ten and four-fifths inches, Zouwu bristles, holly wood... um, it's still not right."

...

Olivander handed wand after wand to Lu Yunkai, and then took it back.

Repeatedly.

However, Ollivander was not upset because he could not find a suitable one.

On the contrary, every time he went back to look for a wand after failure, he would rub his hands happily, and the excited expression on his face showed that he seemed to like this "game" very much.

In this way, the wand shop has been sorted out four times, and Lu Yunkai still hasn't found a wand worth waving.

Ollivander took back the twentieth wand he had passed through, and this time he didn't rush back to the shelf to get a new one.

Instead, he looked at Lu Yunkai, thinking.

"How about the red one just now? At least nothing strange happened when I held it." Lu Yunkai was a little nervous.

Some of the wands he had just touched were estimated to be worth only one Galleon, while others were as high as more than twenty Galleons, but in this store, all were sold for seven Galleons.

Since he no longer expected to buy a suitable wand, he might as well pick one that could be resold for profit. The red one was the most expensive one he had just touched, estimated at twenty-six Galleons.

"There is no connection between you and that wand." Ollivander shook his head, "I was wondering if you had bought a wand somewhere before?"

"... I didn't buy it, I picked up a branch once, and something strange happened at that time." Lu Yunkai glanced at Chris on the suitcase next to him.

"Meow! What did I say! Humph!" The cat raised its head with a proud look on its face.

"Oh? Isn't this... Chris?" Ollivander, who had been concentrating on helping Lu Yunkai choose a wand, seemed to have just noticed the cat and laughed, "Why, do you have a new owner?"

"Meow." Chris nodded.

"Is the branch you picked up still there? Can I see it?" Ollivander turned his attention back to Lu Yunkai.

Lu Yunkai nodded and took out the long branch from the box.

Ollivander took it, gently stroked the wand, and then tried to bend it.

"Twelve and a half inches, black walnut, no elasticity, the core is... the tendon of the sniff? How could someone use this thing to make the core of the wand?" Ollivander looked surprised.

But he still returned the branch to Lu Yunkai.

"Can you wave the wand for me to see?" Ollivander asked.

"Okay." Lu Yunkai waved his hand.

A golden light flashed.

The sound of ding-dong rang behind the counter.

"This... Hahahaha!" Ollivander laughed.

At this moment, the door of the wand shop opened.

A middle-aged man with a handsome appearance walked in with a girl.

The girl had long, slightly curly brown hair. She was tall, with fair skin that was even more dazzling than her hair. Her big silver eyes looked around the store curiously.

"Olivander? What are you laughing at?" The middle-aged man was stunned when he saw Ollivander laughing wildly.

"Oh! Lovegood? Are you here to buy a wand for your daughter?" Ollivander finally put away his smile. "Is your daughter going to Hogwarts too?"

"Next year. I want to teach her some magic first, so that I don't have to use magic to open the door for her every day. Anyway, there won't be any Obscure in my family." The middle-aged man patted his daughter's head with a doting smile.

"You are still as out of line as ever! Aren't you afraid that the Ministry of Magic will cause trouble for you?" Ollivander glanced at the little girl.

"Those people don't bother to care about me. What were you laughing at just now?"

"Nothing, it's just that this kid's wand is very interesting."

"Oh? Really?" The middle-aged man looked at Lu Yunkai, who was stunned there, curiously.

"Mr. Ollivander, I don't understand." Lu Yunkai was a little embarrassed.

"Your wand is a little special." Ollivander's eyes fell on Lu Yunkai's hand, "You just waved your wand, and the money in my counter is about to fly to you."

"Money?" Lu Yunkai's face suddenly became strange, and he wanted to laugh but didn't dare to laugh.

"Meow! I told you, don't save money, you will have plenty of opportunities to make money in the future!" Chris, who jumped onto Lu Yunkai's shoulder again, raised her cat head proudly.

"This is not called earning, this is called stealing, right?" Lu Yunkai glared at Chris.

"Meow! Can wizards' business be called stealing?"

"Are you talking to your pet?" The girl next to the middle-aged man looked at the cat on Lu Yunkai's shoulder curiously, "Ah! This doesn't seem to be a cat! Father! Isn't this the one mentioned in the Quibbler last year..."

"Soul-eating lynx." The middle-aged man nodded, "I don't know where this kid got it from. I thought they were all extinct!"

"Meow! You are extinct!" Chris glared at the middle-aged man.

"So you're not a cat!" Lu Yunkai looked around Chris, "Then why do you always meow?"

"I think I am, so I am. Well, it's getting late, let's find a place to rest!"

"Oh." Lu Yunkai nodded, then looked at Ollivander, "Sorry, Mr. Ollivander, I disturbed you."

"It's okay, I'm very happy to see such an interesting wand." Ollivander had a smile on his face, "If it wasn't for it rejecting you to have another wand, I would be happy to exchange a few wands with you."

"Meow! Don't even think about it!" Chris jumped off Lu Yunkai's shoulder and walked out of the wand shop.

Lu Yunkai bowed to Ollivander a little embarrassedly, and then hurriedly followed him out.

"Did it help you find this wand? No wonder!!" Ollivander's laughter rang out again behind Lu Yunkai...
