Chapter 128 Yuxu Palace

A red sun jumped out of the sea of clouds, illuminating half the sky. With a clear cry, nine hundred and ninety-nine white cranes circled up in a group, rising with the sun, and then lingered around Yujing. The cranes kept calling, and another rainbow bridge spanned the sky above Yujing.

These white cranes are all species carefully cultivated by the Taoist sect. They are not afraid of the severe cold weather on Yuxu Peak, nor are they afraid of the biting wind. They can fly freely on the top of Kunlun Mountain and are specially used for various festivals and celebrations.

The towering Kunlun Mountain is covered with snow all year round. Only Yujing City is like spring all year round, just like the residence of the Green Emperor.

This kind of formation is not difficult in theory, and any of the three religions can do it. The key is to cover such a large Yujing City, and the formation is always open, all year round, which means spending real Taiping money. In many cases, financial resources are equivalent to strength, and strength is equivalent to status. There is no doubt that this is the Taoist sect showing its status as the world's common master to the world.

Anyone who comes to Yujing for the first time will be shocked by the grandeur of Baiyujing in the sky.

Today is the day when the Three Religions Conference officially begins.

In fact, the Confucianists and Buddhists arrived yesterday and stayed in Donglingfang in Shangbafang. They waited until today when Zifu opened and then went to Yuxu Palace in Zifu.

Yuxu Peak and Yuxu Palace are only one word apart, so many people mistakenly think that Yuxu Palace is the core of Yujing, but it is not.

This is like the Fengtian Palace in the imperial capital, commonly known as the "Golden Palace". Many people think that Fengtian Palace is used for court, but in fact it is a place for various ceremonies, such as the emperor's enthronement, the emperor's wedding, the canonization of the queen, New Year's Day, etc.

The real core decision-making place is the Tianqing Palace, which is the emperor's bedroom and study. It is named after the five thousand words of the Supreme Taoist Ancestor: "In the past, those who obtained one, the sky obtained one to be clear, the earth obtained one to be peaceful, the gods obtained one to be spiritual, the valley obtained one to be full, all things obtained one to be born, and the princes obtained one or two to be the world's chastity."

The emperor is called the Son of Heaven. The position of the emperor is extremely honorable. It is called the only one, which means the only one in the sky. The rising of clear air is called the sky, and the descending of turbid air is called the earth. Therefore, the sky obtains one to be clear. In order to show that the emperor is the only and most honorable in the world, his residence is named Tianqing Palace.

In addition, there are Dining Palace, Shenling Palace, Guying Palace, Wansheng Palace, Tianzhen Palace, etc.

Similarly, Yuxu Palace has the same name as Yuxu Peak. It is the largest palace in Yujing, but it is also a place for various ceremonies. In addition to the previous discussions on Taoism and martial arts held here, the celebrations of taking office as the chief teacher, Shangyuan Festival, Zhongyuan Festival, and Xiayuan Festival are also held here. It is basically not used in normal times.

As for the real core of Yujing, it is still Zixiao Palace and Jinque. If you encounter a strong Grand Master like the Fifth Generation, then Zixiao Palace is the core. If you encounter a weak Grand Master like the Sixth Generation, then Jinque is the core. In short, it has nothing to do with Yuxu Palace.

Cihang Zhenren led a group of disciples from Tiangang Hall to Yuxu Palace, attracting many people's attention along the way.

In addition to the respected status of Cihang Zhenren, there is another reason, that is, the Cihang lineage has always respected women, and there are few men. Even if there are a few men, they are mostly marginal figures. This group of people are all women, which naturally becomes a beautiful scenery. Many Taoist disciples think that if they can marry one of them, it will be a blessing from heaven.

But then again, although the Cihang lineage has never banned women from marrying, it is not easy to marry one of the disciples, especially the outstanding disciples among them, and the people they marry are not ordinary people. For example, the first generation of Cihang Zhenren since the revival of Taoism married the Emperor Gaozu of Daxuan and became the empress. She was the biological mother of Emperor Taizong and the stepmother of Lady Xuansheng. The second generation of Cihang Zhenren married Yan Feiqing, the only Tianshi of a different surname in Zhengyi Sect, and another generation of Cihang Zhenren became the wife of the headmaster. This generation of Cihang Zhenren has never married, but she herself is one of the candidates for the great headmaster.

Ordinary Taoist disciples are naturally discouraged and dare not put it into practice, so as not to make themselves unhappy.

Of course, there are also those ignorant young people, such as Qi Xuansu, who is studying in the upper palace of Wanxiang Taoist Palace. He didn't know these sayings and really bumped into it. As for whether he hit a wall in the end or got lucky and got the beauty, only God knows.

In a sense, the threshold of Cihang Zhenren may not be lower than that of Tan Taiqiong, or even higher, but Cihang Zhenren will not set this threshold in the open, let alone directly intervene. She always likes to give young people some opportunities.

I saw a group of women behind Cihang with their hands folded in front of them, not lifting their feet or dragging their heels, their clothes flowing like water, and their hands and feet moving even when they were about to run. Their manners were dignified, and everything was in line with the rules in the Book of Rites.

It means that they walk fast with small steps, not obviously lifting their feet, and the hem of their dress moves like water but not obviously, and their elbows do not move at all even when they walk fast, and their steps are straight.

It is beautiful, but it is inevitable to be tiring.

However, there is a very conspicuous outlier among them, with big sleeves fluttering, arms hanging down, swinging freely as they walk, highlighting a naturalness, walking the same way as usual, and it seems that they are disdainful of following these red tape.

To make an inappropriate analogy, it is like a goshawk mixed in with a group of swans. It cannot be said that the goshawk is ugly, and it is even more heroic than the swans, but it is awkward no matter how you look at it.

Some Confucianists and Buddhists were curious when they saw this scene, so they asked the Taoist disciples who were in charge of leading the way what the identity of this woman was. The Taoist disciples were not surprised and told the outsiders that this woman was Zhang Yuelu, the youngest deputy hall master and the youngest third-grade Taoist priest in our Taoist sect, and now the young head of Tiangang Hall.

The Confucianists and Buddhists suddenly realized that it was this person.

They had heard of her for a long time. She was involved in several major Taoist cases. Obviously, she was a sharp figure. People with ability are arrogant, and it is reasonable for them to be eccentric.

In fact, Zhang Yuelu did not deliberately be eccentric. Although she was nominally a disciple of the Cihang lineage, she had been living in Yunjin Mountain when she was a child. At that time, Cihang Zhenren was still the head of the Jiangnan Daofu. Because of various affairs, he often went to the Great Zhenren Mansion and taught Zhang Yuelu to practice the "Cihang Pudu Sword Canon". Therefore, Zhang Yuelu had never been to Putuo Island and Jiangnan Daofu.

When Zhang Yuelu was a little older, she went directly to Yujing. Maybe someone arranged it with bad intentions, or maybe it was a coincidence. She went to Beichen Hall controlled by Taiping Dao. She didn't learn much about the rules of Cihang, but she learned a lot of the methods of the Li family.

In a sense, Zhang Yuelu is like a woman of the Li family in some aspects. After all, not all Li family members are unscrupulous. Xuansheng is also from the Li family.

In fact, when Cihang Zhenren initially chose to accept Zhang Yuelu as a disciple, she did not regard her as a successor, but more like an act of "marriage". As a member of the same Zhengyi faction, she accepted the children of the Zhang family as disciples to deepen the connection between the two sides.

But unexpectedly, Zhang Yuelu's performance later far exceeded others and won the favor of the Earth Master.

If it was in the past, the Earth Master personally promoted a young disciple from another faction, it would inevitably make people think that the Earth Master had ulterior motives, and the position of the promoted young disciple would also become suspicious.

But now the cooperation between Zhengyi Dao and Quanzhen Dao is the general trend, and the earth master's help seems to be a matter of course. Zhang Yuelu's identity suddenly becomes special. She is no longer an ordinary Zhang family member, but a benchmark for the cooperation between Zhengyi Dao and Quanzhen Dao. As long as the alliance between Zhengyi Dao and Quanzhen Dao has not been broken, Zhang Yuelu's special status will not be shaken.

Cihang Zhenren liked this disciple very much. He changed his mind and pushed her to the position of successor. In this way, the Zhang family was forced to consider whether to let a woman from a small sect take charge of the sect.

Because Cihang Zhenren did not regard Zhang Yuelu as a successor at the beginning, Zhang Yuelu never experienced the collective life of the Cihang lineage from beginning to end, and did not look like a disciple of the Cihang lineage at all.

Zhang Yuelu did not have similar experiences with other sisters and brothers, so she was naturally incompatible with many sisters and brothers. This is also the reason why the two of them were mostly polite when she visited Bai Yingqiong - they were really unfamiliar.

However, Cihang Zhenren never argued with Zhang Yuelu over such trivial matters, but just let it go.

If you can become the deputy or the grand master, let alone leave, even flying is not a problem.

To put it in an incorrect but realistic way, the rules are only for ordinary people.

Cihang Zhenren looked forward and said to Zhang Yuelu, who was one step behind him: "Although most of the previous three religious conferences were won by our Taoism, it does not mean that the Confucianism and Buddhism are willing to be the foil of our Taoism. They are not the opponents of Taoism, so they want to beat Taoism in this matter."

Cihang Zhenren paused slightly and said: "Those who come with bad intentions will not come with good intentions. This time, you have to be careful that the other two families will take the opportunity to attack the system of our Taoism. After all, the position of the grand master has been vacant for a long time, and the three sects are fighting each other more and more fiercely. These are all open and there is no way to avoid them. If there is a mistake at this juncture and they catch the sore spot, it is inevitable that someone will say that Taoism will follow the footsteps of the Confucianism in the past."

Zhang Yuelu frowned and said nothing. After the death of the Confucian sage, there was no leader who could integrate the entire Confucian sect. The great priests and great masters were independent, which gave the Taoist sect a rare opportunity to rise. Now the position of the Taoist Grand Master has been vacant for a long time. No matter what the specific reason is, from the surface, it is quite similar to the state of the Confucian sect without a leader. If someone uses this point to make a fuss, the Taoist sect can refute it, but it will not have a good effect. The best rebuttal is to elect a new Grand Master as soon as possible to unite the hearts of the Taoist sect again.

As he spoke, Yuxu Palace was already in sight.

In addition to Cihang Zhenren, Donghua Zhenren, Qingwei Zhenren and Ning Lingge, who had just taken charge of the ancestral temple, would also attend this Three Religions Conference, but the three deputy masters did not show up, leaving the stage to the "young people".
