Chapter 160: Demons, Ghosts and Monsters
For some people, studying in the palace is a formality, or even a torment. But for Qi Xuansu, it is not the case. Life in the palace is extremely fulfilling and busy, with almost no free time.
After experiencing the minor setbacks of the Zhongyuan Festival celebration, he returned to his normal life. In addition to improving his own cultivation and practicing swordsmanship, he also took various courses.
The cultivation stage of the acquired people of the scattered people is the foundation-building stage, the Dan-holding stage is the Qi-training stage, the Kunlun stage of the innate people is the inner Dan stage, the Yuxu stage is the Yuding stage, and the Guizhen stage is the Shengtai stage. Now Qi Xuansu is in the Shengtai stage, which is also his only complete inheritance. The inheritances of other warriors, alchemists, witches, etc. are all incomplete.
Going up is the celestial being, the free and easy stage is the practice of transformation, and the infinite stage is the escape and transformation stage. These two realms come from "The Supreme Secret": The corpse is the transformation of the form, the practice of the original truth, and the escape and transformation of the body.
The so-called "practice and transformation" is like a cicada leaving its skin to change its bones, and the so-called "transformation" is to preserve the qi and solidify the form, and then transform into an immortal. Therefore, the stage of creation is the stage of transformation, which is ranked after the five immortals and is the lower grade of becoming an immortal.
If Qi Xuansu can enter the stage of practice and transformation, although he cannot have special magical powers like a warrior or a Taoist priest, he will usher in a rebirth, which will not only repair various hidden injuries and hidden dangers, but also cleanse his essence and marrow, greatly making up for his innate deficiency of bones and bones, or this is the magical power of Sanren in the stage of Tianren.
In this way, Sanren may be able to touch the edge of the exiled immortal, from not seeing him to looking at him. But after careful calculation, it is still a loss, because the exiled immortals have excellent qualifications, and there is no room for compensation. After entering the heavenly realm, they can also obtain the magical power of "Five Qis Converging to the Origin". As the name suggests, all the true qi in the body is transformed into true essence, and the true essence has the mystery of true qi, magic power, divine power, and blood qi. Almost all methods can be learned and used. True essence is the root of "one method leads to all methods".
But Sanren still has true qi, which is equivalent to using his own divine powers to make up for his innate deficiencies, and then he lacks another divine power. He can neither see the gods, nor make the false true, nor can he have five qi converging to the origin. He is still inferior to others. No wonder he is ranked at the end of the six inheritances.
However, Qi Xuansu was very satisfied with the transformation and cleansing of the transformation of the transformation realm, because he could obtain other supernatural powers through the "Xuanyu". He was not short of supernatural powers, but the problem of his aptitude and bones had always troubled him, so that he could only rely on the "Xuanyu" to improve his cultivation. The efficiency of self-cultivation was extremely low, and even the method of cultivation was very slow. If this problem could be solved, it would really make him one step closer to the exiled immortal.
For this reason, Qi Xuansu wanted to seek divine power more and more urgently.
Today's course is "Distinguishing Ghosts and Monsters" taught by Ning Lingyun, who replaced the original Zhanggong Dazhenren who taught in person. The reason for such a course is that many Taoists live in prosperous towns. Their main responsibility is not to deal with the monsters of secret societies, but to solve various problems caused by monsters and ghosts. This is the origin of the Taoist priests who subdue demons, catch ghosts, and exorcise demons in the world. It is said that it is also related to the Imperial Capital Daofu. There is news that some people will be transferred to the Imperial Capital Daofu to fill the vacancies after completing their training.
People often refer to demons and ghosts together, but Taoism makes a detailed distinction.
The so-called "the main idea is clear and the details are clear", what is the main idea and what is the details, must be clearly distinguished. Demons are demons, ghosts are ghosts, and demons are demons, and they cannot be confused.
No matter how the predecessors divided it, Taoism redefined it: animals that have cultivated successfully are demons, plants that have cultivated successfully are spirits, and dead things are monsters.
The first two are easy to distinguish, but the last category is the most complicated, and those that do not belong to the first two can be classified as "monsters". For example, those transformed by fog, bones, stones, utensils, and even wild gods born out of thin air are all "monsters". Some monsters are born from the essence of the sun and the moon, and some monsters are transformed by people. Just because people's willpower has great power and magical uses, immortals can use it to build the kingdom of God. Taoism uses divine power to drive various creations, so those monsters born out of thin air are generated by people's willpower.
For example, there is a legendary monster in a certain place, but in fact there is no such monster. However, because countless people believe it to be true, such a monster will really be born from the huge wish power. This is the same as the magic of alchemists and witches, which is to make the false true. In the past, there were often quacks spreading rumors and legends to create monsters for their own use.
Then there are ghosts.
Taoism has long made detailed explanations. After a person dies, the soul returns to heaven, the spirit returns to heaven, and the three corpses wander around the world, which is a ghost. Because the three corpses have been parasitic in the human body, they have the memory of the person before his death. This makes many people mistakenly think that ghosts are the dead people, and they feel pity for them, but are harmed by ghosts.
Corpse means the master of the gods. People have three dantians, upper, middle and lower, each with a god residing in it, collectively known as the "three corpses". The upper corpse likes gorgeous decorations, the middle corpse likes taste, and the lower corpse likes lust. It is also called three insects, three Pengs, three corpse gods, and three poisons. The so-called "three corpse gods jump violently, and smoke comes out of the seven orifices" refers to the three corpses of people.
Because the three corpses can only be free after death, the three corpses are always harming people's lifespan. The higher the realm of cultivation, the more powerful the three corpses will be. Therefore, even the gods and pseudo-immortals will eventually die. If you can kill the three corpses, you can become immortal.
In short, the three corpses are the gathering place of many human desires. After death, people become ghosts due to obsessions. They retain some of their spiritual wisdom in life and think they are souls, but in fact they are not. Therefore, many methods of controlling ghosts have been derived in Taoism, and it is not taboo. But if someone forcibly seizes the soul of a living person and prevents it from returning to heaven and earth, then everyone can kill him.
The last level of the exiled immortal in the heavenly stage is called "beheading the three corpses". After beheading the three corpses, they are calm and desireless, with a calm mind and a clear nature, and are only a step away from becoming an immortal.
The last is the demon, which is different from the devil and demon defined by the West, and also different from the heavenly demon defined by Buddhism. The "demon" of Taoism is a human, or a human being who is possessed by the inner demon, practices many taboos, kills people indiscriminately, and destroys order, so it is called a "demon".
It is also different from the evil cult monsters. The evil cult monsters are just "evil". At most, they have different positions and ideas from the Taoist sect, but they can still communicate. Even many evil cult monsters surrender and submit to the Taoist sect. But "demon" is different. In the eyes of ordinary people, it is like a madman, moody, violent and cruel, and it is impossible to communicate. For example, a person practices the "Thirteen Swords of Taiyin", "Demon Knife", "Taishang Wangqing Sutra" and other unorthodox methods, but goes astray, completely out of control, and completely becomes another person. That is a "demon".
Such "demon" must be eliminated and suppressed.
After distinguishing between monsters, demons, ghosts, spirits, and monsters, they must be treated differently.
As long as the monsters, spirits, and monsters do not actively harm people, the Taoist sect will not do anything. Among them, the monsters are the most powerful, which can be seen from the fact that the Taoist sect only has the Locking Demon Tower. In order to appease and win over, the Taoist sect even allows monsters to join the Taoist sect, such as the Qingqiu Mountain lineage. The so-called spirits and monsters can only rely on monsters most of the time, so the monsters and monsters are called together.
Ghosts and demons must be eliminated, but they are different, similar to the difference between secret societies. Ghosts are equivalent to secret societies such as Qingpinghui and Qibaofang, and demons are equivalent to secret societies such as Lingshan Wujiao and Zhimingjiao. The former can be turned a blind eye and pay attention to priorities, while the latter cannot be slack at all and must be resolutely eliminated. Those that cannot be eliminated temporarily must be suppressed and sealed, which is the origin of the Demon Well.
In fact, whether it is the Demon Locking Tower or the Demon Well, they should be uniformly dispatched and used by the Taoist center, but as the disputes among the three paths intensified and the division deepened, the Demon Well and the Demon Locking Tower gradually became the private property of one path.
Qi Xuansu listened very seriously, he knew his own business. If we follow the division of the imperial court, we can also divide Taoism into civil and military. Taoist priests are civil officials, and spiritual officials are irrelevant. Although he was born a Taoist priest, he is more like a military officer, or a military officer who controls the military officers. It is probably impossible for him to use his brain to plan political affairs. However, he is good at handling such military affairs that require hands-on work. In the future, he will inevitably have to deal with these demons and monsters, so he should be prepared.
At the same time, Qi Xuansu also noticed that Yao Pei was absent from class. Probably because of her family background and teacher, she had already been exposed to these contents, so she didn't waste time. However, Yao Pei has been elusive in the past few days, and her whereabouts are erratic. Qi Xuansu even has a hunch that Qi Jianyuan has not left the Wanxiang Taoist Palace.
These two people seem to be looking for something, and they seem to be looking for someone.
