Chapter 798 Resurrecting the King of Black Chicken! [Seeking Monthly Votes]
The group of people walked and walked until evening, and came to a temple, which was Baolin Temple in Wuji Kingdom.
Wukong carried the golden cudgel and smiled:
"Master, in the original book, you entered first, but the monk inside made you cry with anger, and you pretended that nothing happened. Is it going to be the same now?"
Xuanzang ignored Wukong's teasing, but turned over and dismounted. Looking at the dust on the plaque of Baolin Temple, he ordered the black bear spirit:
"Wu Ming, please wipe the plaque... It is really a pity that such a precious temple is still covered in dust."
The black bear spirit put down his luggage, transformed into a person two feet tall, and wiped the plaque clean with a piece of cloth. As soon as he wiped it, a ray of Buddha light bloomed from the plaque, and then turned into little stars, floating little by little on the black bear spirit.
Wiping the plaque is a job that can obtain Buddhist telepathy. This should be done by Wukong, but Wukong went to work in the Wa Palace after studying the scriptures. He did not need these telepathy, so he ended up taking advantage of Black Bear Jing.
The black bear spirit returned to its original height of one foot and asked Xuanzang for instructions:
"Master, do you want to knock on the door?"
"Knock, let's go in together, master and disciple."
The monks at Baolin Temple are not bad, but they have been frightened by traveling monks in the past, so they do not welcome monks staying overnight.
From this perspective, this is a typical example of the predecessors not following the rules, and subsequent generations suffering accordingly.
The black bear spirit patted the door knocker, and soon a monk came over with an impatient look on his face. Just as he was about to drive away, Wukong suddenly transformed into the size of a thousand feet, raised his golden hoop and asked:
"I'm just asking once, does this place accept traveling monks?"
After saying that, he placed the golden cudgel above the Main Hall, as if he would demolish the Main Hall if he refused.
How could the monk dare to refuse? He said tremblingly:
"We welcome traveling monks here and look forward to the holy monks coming every day."
Wukong happily put away his body and said to Xuanzang with a smile:
"Okay, done."
The monk wiped the sweat from his forehead and hurried to notify the abbot to come and greet the eminent monk.
In fact, he didn't feel whether he was moral or not, but he felt like he had been behind bars.
Soon, more than five hundred monks from all over the temple came out to welcome him.
Xuanzang greeted the abbot here and told him that he came from the Tang Dynasty in the east and went to the west to seek scriptures. The temple quickly opened the mountain gate and lined up to welcome him.
Even if you don't give face to the monks of Dongtu Datang, you still have to give face to Dongtu Datang's 500,000 cavalry... In this way, the Buddhist team was grandly welcomed into the mountain gate.
Entering Baolin Temple, Xuanzang saw the more eye-catching statue of the Inverted Avalokitesvara.
The so-called inverted Guanyin does not mean that Guanyin is standing upside down, but that the direction of the statue is opposite to the direction of the mountain gate. The reason for this shape is to imply that the sea of suffering is boundless and that when you turn back, you will find shore.
Baolin Temple is a temple dedicated to many statues of gods. Lin means there are many Buddha statues, which means several Buddha statues.
Generally, Baolin Temple will enshrine Tathagata Buddha, Medicine King Liuli Buddha, Maitreya, and Guanyin. Now seeing the inverted statue of Guanyin, Xuanzang waved his hand to Wukong:
"Replace the statue of Guanyin with Vairocana Buddha, and replace the statue of Maitreya with your uncle Ksitigarbha."
"As you command!"
Wukong picked up the golden cudgel, and under the watchful eyes of the monks of Baolin Temple, he smashed the inverted statue of Guanyin with one blow, and then used his divine power to rebuild the statue of Vairocana Buddha.
The black bear spirit put down his luggage and said with a smile:
"Destroying the statues in front of many monks is another form of public trial."
Wukong was so fast that before the monks in the temple could react, the inverted statue of Guanyin turned into a smiling Vairocana Buddha.
As soon as it was built, the Buddha opened his eyes:
"Wukong, don't be naughty."
After saying that, the statue stirred up another wave of Buddha's light, which shocked the surrounding monks into speechlessness. After being stunned for a while, they knelt down and prayed for the Buddha's blessing.
Then Wukong destroyed the statue of Maitreya Buddha, replaced it with Ksitigarbha, and changed his name to Ksitigarbha, the future Buddha, and took the place of Maitreya Buddha.
After the statue was built, Ksitigarbha was relatively reserved and didn't say anything. However, the Listening statue standing next to him said hello to Wukong:
"Great Sage, come to the underworld to play when you have time!"
There were two Buddhist miracles coming up, and the monks in the temple no longer dared to neglect Tang Monk and his party.
Everyone boiled water, cooked food, and some people cleared out the small courtyard where the abbot lived to let Xuanzang rest, and planned to set up a monument at the door with the words "Holy Monk Resting Place" written in large characters to show this. Pay homage.
While waiting for dinner, the black bear spirit said:
"Under the leadership of the new king, the Wuji Kingdom is in good weather and the country is peaceful and peaceful. But because he was castrated, he has no interest in men and women... If you think about it, I think the new king has done a good job and is better than the old king."
Wukong chuckled, holding a banana and eating it slowly:
"Junior brother, you are one-sided. On the surface, the new king's performance is indeed very good, but this is all based on the three years of severe drought they experienced. In those three years, people died of hunger everywhere, the treasury was empty, and the king had no food. There is no meat, no officials in the court have salaries, and there is no surplus food in the warehouses everywhere... These are all done by Manjushri Bodhisattva to prepare for the appearance of the lion monster. All the people suffered unreasonable disasters, and many lives were lost. "
The reason why the Lion Monster performed well during the three years of his rule was mainly because Manjusri restored the national destiny that had been suppressed in the previous years.
Under normal conditions, the country's life is actually not bad, and its national fortunes are prosperous. However, several years of severe drought have completely wiped out the entire country's foundation.
When the national fortune comes back, the whole country will naturally be prosperous and prosperous.
It can be said that without the lion monster, even if it relies on suppressed national development, the Wuji country will not be much worse. As for the peace of the country and the people... When there is a drought, the civil and military forces of the Manchu Dynasty can unite with the people and try every means to fight the drought. This is already a rare act by a wise king in the world.
Relatively speaking, Shangguan County Sheriff of Fengxian County is a true reflection of most officials. He talks about benevolence, justice and morality, but he is still unwilling to open warehouses to release grain. So many people starve to death, but the food in the Sheriff's house is still piled up. , enough to make Bajie full.
Xuanzang rarely participated in the discussion between his two disciples:
"Needless to say, King Wuji's character and ability are definitely among the best among people. Otherwise, Manjushri Bodhisattva would not have personally come to ferry him to Lingshan to become a golden Arhat."
For Manjusri to come to his door in person, he must not be an ordinary person. As a result, Manjusri refused to talk to others and had to pretend to be an ordinary monk. He even opened his mouth and made trouble. King Wu Ji was upset at the time, so he was tied up and thrown into the palace. It was soaked in water for three days and three nights.
The black bear spirit asked in confusion:
"Since you are interested in converting him, why don't you make it clear to him face to face instead of making things difficult for him?"
Xuanzang said:
"For the PUA Black Chicken King, some women are like this in the real world. When they meet the man they like, they don't quickly find ways to get closer to each other. Instead, they like to use words to belittle the other person in order to achieve the purpose of control... I am in front of the Master's temple, After hearing several people talk about their experiences of being mentally controlled and verbally tortured by PUAs, who tamed men into hard-working and uncomplaining providers, I, a pure monk, became angry. "
The black bear spirit then asked:
"Then Manjusri Bodhisattva was tied up. Why couldn't he escape from the water? Instead, he needed the Liujia Golden Body to save him?"
Xuanzang said:
"Although the Wuji Kingdom is a small country, he is also an emperor. How can the emperor be so free with his golden words? Besides, the Wuji King has reached the stage where he sees mountains as mountains and water as water. He thinks that Manjushri is an ordinary monk, so it is true that He is an ordinary monk without any magic power...Wu Ming, your foundation in this area is very poor. Didn't Elder Jinchi talk about this in the past? "
The black bear spirit muttered:
"He just wanted immortality and more cassocks, so much so that he was stunned. Later, he was not in the mood to study Buddhism. I studied it all by myself."
Xuanzang put his hands together:
"Once you are contaminated with greed, anger and ignorance, your faith will collapse in an instant, Amitabha."
After dinner was prepared and several people ate, Xuanzang gave lectures to the monks in the temple, read out the new rules of Lingshan, and asked Baolin Temple to strictly implement them.
Late at night, after everyone had dispersed, Xuanzang started reading the scriptures under the dim light of an oil lamp.
Wukong, the black bear spirit, and the white dragon horse each used the soul separation technique and used their soul bodies to guard Xuanzang, intending to see the true face of the black chicken king.
At the second watch, a strong wind suddenly blew outside.
Just as Xuanzang was about to protect the oil lamp, a miserable voice came from the door:
"Master, master, help!"
After the sound rang out, a middle-aged man who was all wet appeared at the door, as if he had just been fished out of the water.
The black bear spirit touched Wukong and White Ryoma with his elbow:
"Come on, come on, this is the Silky King. He looks like the sailors on the Flying Dutchman who have been soaked in water for a long time in "Pirates of the Caribbean."
King Wu Ji noticed that Black Bear Spirit Wukong and others were there, and was startled:
"Holy Monk, this..."
Xuanzang waved to him:
"Don't be afraid, they are all my disciples, King Wuji, are you here to ask for help?"
The Black Chicken King knelt down with a plop:
"I was framed three years ago and thrown into a well, causing the sky to respond and the earth to become inoperable. I became an unjust ghost. Tonight, the night wandering god told me that I could be saved if I came here. Please forgive me for disturbing me. Holy Monk Haihan!”
Bai Longma asked curiously:
"Since you were wronged to death, why don't you go to the underworld to complain?"
The black chicken king sighed:
"What you don't know is that the person who framed me has great supernatural powers and is familiar with the officials. The Capital City God often drinks with him, the Sea Dragon King is related to him, Dongyue Tianqi is his good friend, and the Tenth Palace Yama is his half-brother. Therefore, I have no way to complain... This holy monk, what are you doing?"
As the Black Chicken King was talking, he was a little surprised when he saw Wukong take out a small notebook and memorize it carefully.
Wukong said while writing:
"Go on, I'm just writing... Just now you said that the ten Yamas are all his half-brothers, right? I'll go to the underworld later to hold a trial of the three halls to see which one of them is actually calling himself a brother to a lion. Disgusting or not?”
Just as Wukong was talking, the air around him suddenly became cold, and the Ten Palaces of Yamas came out one after another, scaring King Wuji to death.
King Chu Jiang first bowed his hand to Xuanzang, and then said to Wukong:
"Great Sage, we have nothing to do with that gelding, and we have never refused to help King Wu Ji. It's just that this was set by heaven, and we had no right to interfere at the time."
Bao Zheng, King of Yama, also said:
"Yes, we have nothing to do with that gelding, and we have never had tea or wine. I hope the great sage will learn from it."

A few days ago, Xuandu asked Wei Tuo to deliver a message to the underworld, which shocked the Yama Kings. Just now, he sensed that Wukong was holding a small notebook and asking questions like a reporter. He was afraid that this guy would collect evidence and complain to the Wa Palace, so he hurried over to say hello and ease the relationship.
Wukong put away the small notebook and said with a smile:
"Since you are here, I will not go to Nuwa to judge. Do I need to salvage his body myself?"
Before the Yama Kings of the Ten Palaces spoke, the voice of the Dragon King came from outside:
"Such a small matter, how can I trouble the Great Sage? Our dragon clan has always adhered to the concept of serving the human race. Now that the body has been delivered, it can be regarded as returning it to its original owner."
Black Bear Spirit: "..."
Good guy, I thought that only our brothers and sisters were watching the show, but I didn't expect that everyone was squatting to brush their favor.
If this continues, this disaster will be dealt with cleanly before it is formed.
The King of Wuji was a little confused when he saw his body.
Before he could explain the whole story, the gods were busy. It felt like the three years of being immersed in the past were like a dream.
Wukong asked with a smile:
"Do you feel that there are good people around you all of a sudden? You love the people, and you deserve this treatment."
The King of Wuji was sympathetic to the people. Facing the drought, he was willing to share the joys and sorrows with the people. Such a human king was exactly what the Wa Palace advocated. In addition, the pilgrim team wanted to intervene in this matter, so the gods from all sides had to give him some face.
The Ten Kings of Hell hurriedly placed the corpse of the King of Wuji on the Buddha couch next to them, and waved to the soul of the King of Wuji:
"Come, lie on you, we will bring you back to life immediately."
The King of Wuji walked over and was about to lie on his own body. The King of Hell Bao Zheng raised his hand and patted him on the back, and then pushed him forward with force:
"Wake up!"
As soon as the voice fell, the King of Wuji in the soul state merged with the body, and then suddenly opened his eyes.
After soaking in the well day and night for three years, he finally resurrected.
The King of Wuji struggled to sit up. Just as he was about to thank King Pingdeng, he stuffed a red date produced in the underworld into his mouth:
"This date is used to stabilize the mind and has a miraculous effect on nourishing the soul."
King Qin Guang fed him another date for strengthening the body, so that the body and soul of the King of Wuji were in excellent condition.
Wukong said with a smile:
"We all know that you were pushed into the well. Go change your clothes and have a good rest for a night. Tomorrow we will go to the city and take back your throne."
The King of Wuji bowed to everyone again and again:
"Thank you all for your help. I am satisfied with being able to be resurrected this time. I don't ask for the throne. I just hope that man can return my wife and children to me."
The three years of soaking made the King of Wuji think a lot. Now that he has returned to the world, the only thing he wants is a warm bed with his wife and children. As for the country, let him do whatever he wants.
Xuanzang said:
"We saved you so that you can benefit the people. How about you give me the throne?"
This not only stunned Wukong and the black bear, but also stunned the Ten Kings of Hell and several dragon kings, with a look of eating melons in their eyes.
The King of Wuji agreed with this:
"The holy monk has saved my life. If you are willing, the throne must be offered with both hands!"
Xuanzang waved his hand:
"Since the King of Wuji is mine, as a citizen of Wuji, shouldn't you listen to me?"
The King of Wuji bowed and saluted:
"Holy monk, please speak!"
"I declare that the whole country of Wuji will surrender to the Tang Dynasty in the Central Plains, but in view of the long distance between the two places, you will temporarily take over the position of the King of Wuji, and wait for the Tang Dynasty's troops to arrive before handing over."
The King of Wuji: ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
No, there is such an operation?
The Dragon King of the East Sea asked:
"Your Majesty, have you suddenly changed from a king to a citizen of the Tang Dynasty in the East? Are you used to it?"
The King of Wuji said:
"I am used to it. We dream of joining the Tang Dynasty. We heard that there is so much food there that we can't finish it all. The weather is good and the country is peaceful. No demon dares to make trouble in the country. Even the great demons who have not come out dare not go to the Tang Dynasty in the East... Such a country with abundant resources and treasures is not comparable to our small country."
In this way, Xuanzang helped the Tang Dynasty win an enclave and a capable king with just a few words.
The King of Wuji returned the favor of saving his life and let his people join the Tang Dynasty and become the citizens of the Celestial Empire; Xuanzang helped the Tang Dynasty expand its territory, promote education, and gain people's livelihood.
The Ten Kings of Hell and several dragon kings facilitated this matter, and they all gained something.
The next morning, Xuanzang and his friends had breakfast, left Baolin Temple, and led the King of Wuji to the capital of Wuji.
On the way, the King of Wuji enthusiastically introduced the customs and people of his country, so that the pilgrims had a general understanding of Wuji.
Wukong asked:
"What are you going to do with that monster when you catch it later?"
The King of Wuji sighed softly:
"I wanted to ask the holy monk to help kill him, but since he is not a bad person and was sent by someone, I will get rid of his magical powers, seal his spiritual consciousness, and let him be an ordinary person."
The ability of the lion-leopard monster is very poor, and his fighting is even at the bottom of the list among the monsters in the Journey to the West. The only thing he can show is the art of transformation.
He can transform into anyone, and even the fire eyes and golden pupils can't detect it. Only when Xuanzang recites the tight hoop curse can Wukong distinguish clearly.
Wukong said:
"If I can catch him, I will do as you say. If someone comes to rescue him, it's hard to say whether he lives or dies."
"Please do as you wish, holy monk. I have no objection no matter what."
When they arrived at the city gate, a team of fully armed soldiers suddenly ran over to close the city gate. Wukong blew and a strong wind blew near the city gate. The soldiers hid everywhere, and the pilgrim team and the King of Wuji walked into the city gate in a swagger.
When Wukong was thinking about how to expose the lion monster, he felt a fishy wind blowing in the sky. When he looked closely, he saw a monster with a human body and a lion head flying westward.
Just as he was about to stop it, a burst of emerald green sword light passed between heaven and earth, and the monster with a human body and a lion head was stunned in the air, as if his five senses were cut off.
When Wukong saw it, he immediately raised his golden hoop and flew to the sky:
"Where are you escaping? Take my stick!"
