Pawn Crossing the River

Chapter 26: The Art of Peace

After Qi Xuansu escaped from Wu Guangbi's "devil's clutches", he continued to wander in the stereotyped corridors.

In fact, Qi Xuansu had a hunch that following Wu Guangbi and Li Tianzhen was the best choice. "Tian Ting" had been entrenched in Nanyang for many years, and must have done a lot of research on the Dragon Palace on the Sea. This time, Wu Guangbi personally escorted Li Tianzhen to the Dragon Palace on the Sea, and he should have a certain degree of confidence in finding the inheritance of the Queen of Heaven, rather than just trying his luck.

In the eyes of ordinary people, the will of heaven is unpredictable, and it is difficult to ask what the will of heaven is since ancient times. But in the eyes of immortals, the will of heaven has certain rules, but this law of change is hidden behind various appearances and is unknown to the world. Immortals can see through its external appearances, so immortals are said to be the ones who master the key to heaven and earth.

Similarly, the Dragon Palace on the Sea seems to be mysterious, but in the final analysis, it is still a kingdom of God created by an immortal, and its internal operation must also follow certain rules, just like the rising and setting of the sun and the setting of the moon, and the vicissitudes of life, and then hide this law under various appearances. People with lower realms cannot find this kind of law through appearances, so naturally it all depends on luck. Everything seems mysterious and unpredictable. However, the "Heavenly Court" has the Grand Master Jin Gong and the Li family has the National Master, so naturally there is no way to see through the appearance. Let's not talk about the distant ones. Just take Lan Da Zhenren. He spent a period of time to speculate the specific location of the Dragon Palace on the sea, successfully entered it, and accurately found what he needed. This is obviously not something that can be done by luck.

It's a pity that Qi Xuansu's realm is limited now. He can escape but not fight, let alone quietly follow behind and reap the benefits. It would be almost the same if Qi Niang came in person.

At this point, Qi Xuansu didn't want to return empty-handed. It would be good to get a more practical treasure, just as a pleasant surprise.

On the way, Qi Xuansu met several people one after another, including spiritual officials from the Taoist sect and lucky people who entered the Dragon Palace on the sea from other places. Qi Xuansu ignored them.

He also found a few rooms, but they were empty, obviously someone had visited them in advance.

Qi Xuansu counted the simulated heartbeats of his body and spirit with his mind, and roughly calculated the time. Two and a half hours had passed. According to Ding Chou Lingguan, the Dragon Palace on the sea would only last for four hours each time it was opened, which means that he still had one and a half hours left, equivalent to three hours in Western time.

Qi Xuansu calmed down, did not care about gains and losses, and continued to move forward.

After another hour, Qi Xuansu finally found a special room, where a book was placed on the table.

Qi Xuansu picked it up and saw that the cover was written with four big characters "Taiping Yaoshu"!

Qi Xuansu's face suddenly became strange.

"Taiping Yaoshu", as the name suggests, has a great relationship with Taiping Dao. These four words seem a little strange, but "Taiping Yaoshu" is also known as "Taiping Qingling Book", which is very familiar.

Qi Xuansu never thought that he did not find the legendary inheritance of the Queen of Heaven, but found the inheritance of Taiping Dao.

During the Yellow Turban Rebellion, the Taiping Dao swept the world, and this was the fundamental classic doctrine of the Taiping Dao. Strictly speaking, this "Taiping Qingling Book" is not today's "Taiping Qingling Sutra". The latter is just a great method, while the former is a complete inheritance system, just like the Five Immortals inheritance system established by Xuansheng on the basis of his predecessors, and the Sanren inheritance system and the Houtian Exiled Immortal inheritance system created by later generations on the basis of Xuansheng.

So it is "Taiping Essentials" that includes "Taiping Qingling Sutra", but "Taiping Qingling Sutra" does not include "Taiping Essentials". In other words, friends include friends, but friends do not include friends.

When the Taiping Dao Rebellion failed, the Taiping Dao was torn apart, the Great Sage and Good Master died, and the "Taiping Essentials" disappeared, or it can be said that each of the remnants of the Taiping Dao each mastered a part of the "Taiping Essentials", and none of them were complete. It is said that the complete "Taiping Essentials" has 17 volumes in addition to the 57 volumes of the general outline, for a total of 170 volumes.

By the end of the previous dynasty, the five major sects were divided into two camps, tentatively divided into good and evil. The righteous sect mastered the general outline of "Taiping Yaoshu", and this part of the general outline was divided into two parts, the upper part was mastered by the Shen family, named "Taiping Jing", and the lower part was mastered by the Li family, named "Qingling Jing", also known as "Xuanwei Zhenshu". Later, Xuansheng came forward and combined "Taiping Jing" and "Qingling Jing" into one, which is today's "Taiping Qingling Jing".

As for the ten parts under the general outline, they fell into the hands of the evil sect.

The reason why Taoism is divided into good and evil is similar to the dispute between the Confucian sage and Xunzi. Taoism has a patriarch, Yang Gong, who is later than the patriarch of Mohism but earlier than the sage. He advocates the preservation of nature and the value of oneself over things. He also proposed the famous saying "In ancient times, if a person sacrificed a hair to benefit the world, he would not do it; if the whole world served him, he would not take it. If everyone did not sacrifice a hair and did not benefit the world, the world would be in order."

It was just that later generations took it out of context and turned it into "If you pluck a hair to benefit the world, you will not do it."

The lineage of Patriarch Yang Gong was similar to the saying of the Supreme Taoist Patriarch "If you value your body for the world, you can entrust the world. If you love your body for the world, you can entrust the world." However, it was not completely consistent, and was rejected by the Taoist Lord Nanhua, which led to the distinction between good and evil.

After Xuansheng rebuilt the Taoism, he still recognized Patriarch Yang Gong's status as the ancestor.

Patriarch Yang Gong collected various miraculous skills and methods in the world, removed the dross and retained the essence, and finally compiled them into a book. Because it was all-encompassing and many of the contents were not from Taoism, Patriarch Yang Gong did not name it. Later generations called it the Ten Volumes of the Nameless Heavenly Book. Later, the evil way was divided into ten branches, each branch held a volume of the Heavenly Book, which extended the magical powers of the ten branches.

It’s just that the older the various techniques are, the better they are. In later generations, there were also geniuses who constantly improved and perfected the techniques. For example, the "Thirty-Six Swords of the Big Dipper" was originally only considered a top-level technique. Later, after Li Daoxu’s refinement and improvement, it became a method of great success that was on par with the "Cihang Pudu Sword Canon" and the "Thirteen Swords of the Taiyin". Therefore, these ten volumes of the Heavenly Book have also been repaired in various ways. The ten volumes of the "Taiping Essential Techniques" mastered by the evil way were integrated into the ten volumes of the nameless Heavenly Book of Patriarch Yang Gong. Now it has also returned to Taoism, but it is still called the "Nameless Heavenly Book" and has not been combined with the "Taiping Qingling Sutra".

At that time, with the support of Xu Wugui, Song Zheng forced other sects to offer their copies of the Heavenly Book, reproducing the full picture of the Heavenly Book left by Patriarch Yang Gong. Later, the reason why Tan Taiyun was able to enter the stage of immortality at the age of forty was precisely because of the ten volumes of the Heavenly Book. From this aspect, the "Ten Volumes of the Heavenly Book" is also considered a method of great success.

In short, today's "Taiping Qingling Sutra" and "Nameless Heavenly Book" together are the "Taiping Essentials".

But this is nothing, because Taoism has them all.

With Qi Xuansu's current status, it is not difficult to get these two great methods.

The key is that it is not easy to practice. As Qi Xuansu said, he has not even practiced the Taoist method completely, so it is meaningless to force too much.

From this point of view, "Taiping Essentials" is somewhat useless for Qi Xuansu.

But Qi Xuansu thought about it and couldn't say that "Taiping Essentials" is completely useless. In fact, whether it is "Taiping Qingling Sutra" or "Nameless Heavenly Book", the biggest problem is that they have undergone many deletions and revisions. It can't be said that they are completely unrecognizable, but they have changed a lot. Especially when Xuansheng established the Five Immortals System, separating the cultivation methods and magical powers, the current many great methods only have the magical power part, without the cultivation methods. The corresponding originals must still be there, but ordinary people can't see them at all, and can only touch the magical power part.

This also led to the fact that many great methods could not be cultivated at all, such as the "Eternal Life Su Nu Jing", whose cultivation method talked about the method of dual cultivation between men and women, the art of strengthening the foundation and nourishing the essence, which is the so-called "Three Thousand Women to Attain the Dao and Ascend to Heaven". After deleting the cultivation method, basically no one chose this great method anymore.

Xuansheng integrated the inheritance, removed the dross and kept the essence, greatly raising the lower limit, so that many people who originally had no hope of reaching the heavenly stage in their lifetime could also become heavenly as long as they followed the steps and followed this theorem formula and took fewer detours. However, it also weakened the upper limit to a certain extent, which was equivalent to Xuansheng blocking the road. It was true that there were fewer detours, but there was no room for improvement and change. For many geniuses, it was better to directly learn the original article that could reflect the original intention of the author, and finally integrate it, so that one method could be understood and all methods could be understood. Simply put, knowing what is wrong can better understand what is right, which is mutually confirmed.

Zhang Yuelu learned the original version of "Five Thunders Heavenly Heart Orthodoxy" and "Dragon and Tiger Sword Art", so there is nothing wrong with it. Of course, it is due to the inheritance of his family, but it also shows the advantage of genius.

If this volume of "Taiping Yaoshu" is the original full text, then it is very valuable, and it may also contain some lost content, that is, content that is not within the scope of "Taiping Qingling Sutra" and "Unnamed Heavenly Book". Don't look at it as only one volume of the book, there may be another world in it, which can accommodate hundreds of volumes of content.

In short, Qi Xuansu can learn it and share it with Zhang Yuelu, both of which are not at a loss.

Originally, Qi Xuansu was able to get "Qingyun" because of Zhang Yuelu's help. Otherwise, why would the Heavenly Master hand over "Qingyun" to him, a person of an outsider? It is reasonable for him to share "Taiping Yaoshu" with Zhang Yuelu, not to mention that this is the strength of the Xiantian exiled immortal.

It's funny to say that the Xiantian exiled immortals clearly have the word "Xiantian" on their shoulders, but they have to rely on acquired learning and accumulation, while the acquired exiled immortals have the word "Acquired", but their development direction has already been planned in the Xiantian.

As for why the Queen of Heaven has the "Taiping Yaoshu", it is not surprising. Since ancient times, witches and Taoism have been inseparable. Although it was the Zu Tianshi who destroyed the ancient witch religion, the eleven witches were still subordinates of the Emperor of Heaven, which was equivalent to internal fighting.

Before becoming a god, the Queen of Heaven had the identity of a "lizhong witch" and was called a "goddess", and the eleven great witches were also called goddesses, such as the Wuxia Goddess Peak. The witch and the goddess are closely linked, two sides of the same coin. It can be seen that the Queen of Heaven has the identity of a witch, and later gradually integrated the elements of the three religions. Nowadays, most people in the Taoist sect believe that the belief in the Queen of Heaven evolved from the belief in witches and shamans, and in the process of development, it also incorporated the elements of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, and finally gradually stood out from many sea gods.

When "Taiping Yaoshu" was born, it was the era of Confucianism, and Confucianism, as the master of the world, commented on "Taiping Yaoshu" as "full of witch and shaman nonsense".

What are witches and shamans? Female witches are witches, and male witches are shamans, collectively known as "witch and shaman".

As a goddess and witch, it is reasonable for the Queen of Heaven to have "Taiping Yaoshu".
