Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 30 Gods

Charles froze in place for three seconds before being awakened by the bandage's prayer.

He looked down, and at some point the first mate, Bandage, had come to his side, bowing to the giant eyes of the sky.

Charles gritted his teeth and stumbled into the cockpit, dragging his bandages.

Charles, with a livid face, did not answer, and took the door hatch. With his hands quickly operating on the equipment, the lights on the Narwhal quickly disappeared, and the exploration ship merged with the darkness.

At this moment, the voice of the second officer came from the communication channel, "Captain, what happened above, why did you activate—"

In the next second, the second officer's voice became extremely frightened, "My God, have we met the "God" in the dark? We are finished, we are completely finished!!"

"Second Officer! Shut up!" Charles, with his veins on his face, yelled into the pipe.

The body of the first officer next to him was trembling uncontrollably, his body wrapped in bandages curled up on the ground, and he was still chanting vague prayers.

Charles rushed towards the voice, covered his mouth with his hands, and said in a low voice, "That's not your Fortan God! Didn't you see that thing is in the sky?"

In the darkness of the cabin, the tense atmosphere began to permeate, and there was no other sound except the sound of rapid breathing.

After a few minutes, Dipper's deep voice came from beside him, as if suppressing some emotion.

"Captain, what kind of god did you see just now? Why don't we pray to it? I heard that if we meet a "god", as long as we pray sincerely, it will let us go."

Charles didn't speak, he didn't know what kind of god it was, he didn't want to know what that thing was, and now he wanted that thing outside to go away quickly.

"Om..." There was a low resonant sound in the dark sky.

This sound made everyone on the ship feel their hair stand on end and their scalps tingle. After a while, there were more and more strange sounds on the deck outside.

"Damn it! Something's on board!"

Charles's heart suddenly clenched. He knew that he could no longer sit still and wait for death. If this continues, everyone on board will die.

With a sudden heart attack, he rushed to the various instruments and instantly turned on all the light sources.

I saw outside the glass, crawling red meat balls from nowhere, lying on the deck and devouring the bright yellow "snow"

"Chief engineer! Turbine overloaded!! Let's leave this place at full speed!!"

The dormant Narwhal made a low cry and climbed rapidly.

Seeing the deformed monsters on the deck jumping into the sea one after another, Charles was not at all happy. The thing in the sky was the danger. He didn't dare to see if the thing in the sky was still there. It was hard for him to imagine that an eyeball could cover half of the sky. How big is the owner of those eyes, the only thing he can do now is to try his best to escape.

Suddenly the Narwhal shook violently, and the bandages beside it and Dipper slammed against the wall, followed by noises and screams from the pipeline in the turbine cabin.

"Captain!! Something is inserted into the turbine cabin! The second wheel pipe is dead!"

There was a piercing sound of metal rubbing, and outside the glass, several huge pillars that looked like fingers stretched down from the air and grabbed the hull of the ship.

Immediately afterwards, Charles found that his ship was not moving, and was still rising slowly, and something caught the Narwhal.

"Fuck! This is my boat to go home!! If you want to take it, you have to step over my dead body!" The furious Charles didn't care about anything else, he pulled up the searchlight suddenly, and rushed to the deck desperately.

Charles, who came to the deck, raised his head suddenly, and finally saw the true face of the thing in the sky. It was a butterfly monster more than ten times bigger than the Narwhal.

What caught the Narwhal was its insect feet, and the eye I saw just now was the piebald spots on the wings of a butterfly. As the wings flapped, bright yellow scales fell from the sky.

Although the monster in front of him felt very oppressive, Charles showed a smile on his face. The gods in the sky are not some bullshit gods. He was almost deceived. A monster, no matter how big it is, is just a beast.

A low-frequency resonance came again, and the other legs of the giant moth pierced towards the searchlight. It seemed to hate strong light.

Charles quickly rushed to the deck gun, "Lily, load and unload the shell for me!"

When the shells were loaded and unloaded, the Narwhal was already seven or eight meters away from the sea.

Can't let it hook the boat anymore! Charles moved the muzzle to point at the giant feet thrust into the side of the ship.

"Sit still!" After a loud noise, the insect's legs made of black chitin exploded instantly, and red and green insect juice splashed all over the sky.

The Narwhal in mid-air smashed hard on the water surface, causing waves of waves. If the wooden boat fell apart by this time.

Regardless of his jaw that was bleeding, Charles shouted excitedly at the cockpit: "Go ship! Go ship!"

"Captain! Look behind you!!" Dipper in the cab stood in front of the glass and danced in panic.

As soon as Charles turned his head, he saw a giant butterfly with a broken leg appearing directly in front of the bow. The two tentacles on the top of its head were shaking, and there was a low cry and a loud sound, as if it was irritated at this time.

"You still want to come, don't you? Yes! I'll stay with you to the end!" With a hint of madness, Charles adjusted the muzzle and pointed at the giant butterfly's ferocious insect head.

When the surrounding atmosphere was tense to the extreme, the sea surface between the two sides suddenly raised a sea pillar three times larger than the giant butterfly.

The sea water exploded violently, and a translucent palm with evil patterns, as huge as a mountain, appeared on the surface of the water.

The moment he saw the palm, Charles immediately heard a deafening whisper coming from his ears, and everything in front of him began to distort, and his self-consciousness in his brain was rapidly dissipating.

With a gust of wind, the sky covered the sun and slapped towards the giant butterfly. The giant palm touched the water surface, and huge waves rose high, turning into a violent tsunami and heading towards the Narwhal.

In a trance, Charles saw a giant walking between the sky and the earth. His whole body was green, and his soft head had countless tentacles. His forelimbs were like soft claws. The chin drags all the way to the belly.

"Boom!!" Huge waves crashed onto the deck, and Charles, who was standing still, rushed into the sea. Dipper, who was standing in the cockpit, saw this scene and jumped down.

"Captain! Wake up!! Captain!!"

Charles slowly opened his eyes and found that he had returned to the captain's cabin at some point.

"Huh~" Seeing Charles opened his eyes, all the crew members present breathed a sigh of relief, and Lily even cried out excitedly.

Charles ignored the stinging brain, and asked the second officer next to him, "Is it safe now? Where are we now?"

There was a wry smile on the face of the red-haired young man, "It's safe, but I don't know where it is now..."
