Chapter 26 The False Lily

Charles' anomaly has attracted the attention of others. One person leading a group of mice is so eye-catching no matter where he is, and the number of people pointing at him began to increase.

"Don't worry." Charles, frowning slightly, led Lily to the side street.

"Are you sure that's your home, and that little girl is the real you?"

"Of course I'm sure, I look like that, that's obviously my mother." Lily's voice was sad.

"Tell your friends to disperse first, it's not easy to do it."

Lily squeaked twice, and the surrounding mice quickly dispersed, startled by female screams.

After Charles took Lily for a walk around the street, he returned to the small villa.

At this time, in the small courtyard, Lily's mother had already left, leaving only "Lily" sitting there reading a book.

"Don't talk later, let me test everything."

After looking around and finding nothing unusual, Charles pushed open the wooden door and walked straight to her, "Lily?"

The little girl who was reading looked up suspiciously. When she saw Charles, her expression changed, and she put down the book with her hands and ran into the house in a panic.

"Huh?" Charles raised his left hand, and three invisible tentacles immediately entangled her.

Just when Charles thought the little girl in front of him would reveal her true form, this "Lily" was just struggling desperately and shouting loudly. "Mom! Mom!! Help!!"

Seeing this scene, Charles had a trace of doubt on his face. He had seen many deformed monsters, but this was the first time he had seen such a reaction.

He raised "Lily" in front of him, took out the black knife and slashed vigorously, scarlet blood gushing out from the little girl's arm.

Licking the knife edge, Charles was surprised to find that it was really human blood.

At this moment, the door of the next room opened, and Lily's mother came out, holding a flintlock in her trembling hand. "Let go of my daughter! I have already called the police!"

Ignoring the completely harmless weapon in the woman's hand, Charles calmly looked at the little girl in front of him and asked, "Why did you run away when you saw me?"

The little girl looked terrified, but she spoke quickly. "Because you smell like the sea. Dad said that anyone who smells like the sea is a bad person."

"Liar!! That's my father!" The white mouse Lily was about to jump on the little girl.

Charles grabbed the mouse, let go of the little girl and walked outside.

Everything that "Lily" showed was so normal, not at all like it was pretended to be, which made Charles feel a little puzzled.

"Don't worry, let's investigate first." Charles pressed the restless head of the white mouse.

Charles took Lily back to the port area, turned east and west, and came to a remote door.

After looking left and right to see if there was no one else, he tapped on it and said in a low voice, "I'm looking for your big and small ears."

The door opened silently, and Charles walked in directly with Lily.

Inside is a messy warehouse, and a group of men with various tattoos on their faces are playing cards.

When Charles came in with a group of mice, a thin man with a scar on his face stood up.

"Captain Charles, long time no see, do you want to bring goods again? I heard that you got a big ship and can carry a lot of goods."

Charles didn't bother to be polite to him, so he took out a stack of Echo Coins and handed them over. "I need some information from Dr. Oliver."

Since you can't see the situation from the front, you can ask some local snakes, maybe they have other clues.

The scarred man smiled, and stretched out his right hand without two fingers to take it. "It's easy to say, Coral Island has no news that our Sea Snake Gang can't find out."

Not long after, a piece of paper full of words was pushed in through the crack of the door of Charles' residence. After he took it and looked at it in detail, he looked at the white mouse on the ground with a complicated expression.

"Lily, did you turn into a mouse after being sucked into a whirlpool while visiting your grandfather?"

"Yes, that's right."

"But... Judging from the information obtained by those guys, your parents have been staying on the island for the past few years and have not gone to sea."

There was an instant deathly silence in the room.

Three seconds later, Lily said with disbelief in her eyes, "That... that means..."

"That is to say, that Lily is real. She is the real daughter of the Oliver couple, not someone else pretending to be."

Since Dr. Oliver has never been out at sea, he will not encounter a shipwreck, and of course their daughter is even less likely to fall into the whirlpool.

"She is real, so who am I?" Tears kept dripping from the white mouse's eyes.

After deliberating his words, Charles said, "Lily, although it's a little hard to accept, the things in my memory may not be true."

"Impossible!! I'm Lily!! I'm not a mouse!! I'm the real Lily!!" The white mouse screamed hysterically.

Hearing Lily's shout, the brown mice quickly gathered around, squeaking with concern.

"Go away! I'm not your kind! I'm a human! I'm a human!!" The brown mice spread out a little, but they kept surrounding the crying white mouse.

Charles didn't know what to say at this time. He thought about many results, but he never thought that this would be the case.

But after thinking about it, it made sense, the world of Dihai was so hopeless.

Half an hour later, Lily, surrounded by mice, lay motionless on the ground, as if she had lost her soul. "Mr. Charles, do you think I'm really a mouse?"

Charles, who was sitting on the stool, was silent, he didn't know how to answer in this situation.

The white mouse, who couldn't get the answer, slowly got up, and walked towards the door in a daze, followed by the brown mice.

"Where are you going?"

Lily's voice was aggrieved and pitiful. "I don't know either...but since it's a mouse, maybe it should go to the sewer, Mr. Charles, thank you for taking care of me these days, you are a good man."

The mice rushed up quickly, and they easily opened the door handle, and followed the white mouse to the dark corridor outside.

Looking at the mice going away, Charles showed a trace of irritability on his face. "Are you planning to give up? Are you planning to go to the sewer to eat garbage for the rest of your life?"

Lily with drooping ears turned around and looked at Charles blankly.

"Since you think you are a human being, and Earth Sea made you like this, then you should go to the sea to get everything back! Instead of running away!" His voice was raised.

"People can't decide our fate, but we can decide the attitude to face difficulties, come back! I need a gunner on my ship,"

Lily's eye sockets were soaked with tears again, and the choking white mouse kept nodding. "Thank you, Mr. Charles, why are you helping me like this?"

Charles is not a warm-hearted person, but when he saw the desperate Lily walking out, he instinctively resisted. He was also a poor person who couldn't go home. He was afraid that it would be his future self.
