Chapter 21 The Weird Charles
James and Frey looked at each other with strange expressions. This was the first time the captain had seen such a tone.
The dark corridor began to quiet down, and under the threat of the invisible leeches, the surrounding air seemed to freeze.
Suddenly Charles laughed with trembling shoulders, first a low laugh and then a louder laugh.
Lily timidly poked her head out from the pile of mice, "Mr. Charles, what's wrong with you?"
Charles fought back his laughter and turned around. "Pfft, Sister Mouse, I thought of a joke, let me tell you. It says that once upon a time there was a—"
Almost at the same time as he turned around, the flying leech appeared on the wall on his left in an instant, and it opened its ferocious mouthparts to bite towards the back of Charles' head.
Everyone's eyes widened in surprise, but it was too late to remind at this time.
Something beyond everyone's expectations happened. Charles' body suddenly snapped as if he had no bones, and escaped the monster's bite.
His right hand holding the knife exerted force instantly, and the sharp blade directly pierced into the abdomen of the flying monster. "Haha! I finally caught you! You guys can actually go through walls!"
Charles flicked his feet like springs, and jumped onto the back of the leech. The black knife in his hand stabbed fiercely at the translucent back.
The flying leech twisted violently, and Charles seemed to have a balance built into his body, and he couldn't shake it off at all.
"You want to throw me off? There's no door!"
The injured leech quickly retracted its head, turned its head and vomited forcefully at the human who had seriously injured itself, and the pus-yellow liquid sprayed towards Charles.
"I've had enough fun, goodbye big bug!"
Charles held the handle of the knife inserted into the locust's body with his backhand, and turned it vigorously like turning the rudder. With the sound of leather tearing, the handle of the knife along with him scratched from the back of the leech to its abdomen along the skin.
The knife cut across half of the body almost cut the leech in half.
The leech let out a loud roar, and its broken body became transparent, trying to escape.
But as Charles exerted strength in his hand, he directly stabbed the handle of the knife into the leech, and the bloated leech hanging in the air hit the ground directly.
The moment Charles landed on the ground, his feet kicked hard on the skin. After tumbling a few times in the air, he landed steadily in the shape of a return of the king. "Is he handsome! Is he awesome! Where is the applause!!"
After posing for a few seconds, he found that no one was paying attention to him. Charles turned around and found that the boss of his crew stared with a ghostly expression on his face.
"Hey, you guys really don't have a tacit understanding at all. What are you doing standing there, go away."
Only then did the crowd react and run quickly, and Charles stood behind everyone and began to come back.
The distance to the exit was getting closer and closer, and the crew looked back at their captain from time to time.
Dipper glanced down at the captain who was shaking his legs and humming, and said to the second mate Kenona next to him, "Should we take off the mask on the captain's face? There seems to be something wrong with him."
With a swipe of Charles' foot, the snow-white mask hit Dipper directly on the face. "Hey! What are you talking about, boy! I can hear you! Who will protect you after I take off the mask?"
As soon as Dipper gritted his teeth, he was about to stretch his hands towards the mask on the maniacly smiling face, but Charles easily avoided it like a loach.
Immediately afterwards, he stretched out his hand and stuffed the wine jug into Dipper's hand, grabbing his shoulders with both hands and pushing him forward. "Go first and wait for me on the boat."
Before anyone else could speak, Charles fell back and fell into darkness.
"Captain!! Captain! Come back quickly!!"
"Mr. Charles, where are you going?"
Amid the shouts of others, Charles, wearing a clown mask, walked further and further away.
In the darkness, Charles talked to himself. "Since this place is for studying relics, there must be a lot of relics, haha, I'm going to make a lot of money now."
Humming a song that was vaguely in his memory, Charles walked into the place just now again.
This time, he rammed the doors one by one, and directly blasted them with explosives if they didn't move at all.
Behind the first door was an oil lamp with a style similar to that of the Middle World. Just as Charles carried it and walked out, under Mingrui's vision, he noticed the notebook hanging on the wall.
"Tsk tsk tsk, these guys are so considerate, even the instructions are ready."
Char took off the notebook and rushed towards the next room.
"Hahaha, get rich, get rich!"
Charles, who was holding a pile of relics in his clothes, happily shuttled between the rooms, looking very much like a farmer harvesting crops.
Just as he was putting a silver tentacle ring on his ring finger, a red light suddenly appeared at the door.
"Oh, the slugs dare to come here. If I don't show you something today, I don't know how many eyes Lord Ma has!" Charles walked towards the door imposingly with the package in one hand.
When he poked his body out of the house, his body froze immediately, and the monster in front of him was not one, but a group of densely packed ones.
Crowded together, some of their bodies appeared in the ceiling, and some of them were on the floor. A group of red lights flickered in the distance, looking like a wall covered with neon lights.
When Charles saw them, those monsters also saw him. All the flying leech twisted their bodies, and the red light quickly disappeared.
Darkness enveloped the empty corridor again. Looking at the empty darkness, Charles could already imagine the scene of invisible leeches soaring towards him.
Without saying a word, he turned around and ran away. Before he had run two steps, a big ferocious mouth appeared out of nowhere in front of him.
Charles couldn't stop for a moment, half of his body was already in his mouth.
Charles mobilized his muscles and twisted vigorously, and finally backed out before closing his mouth. Although he escaped in a narrow escape, the clothes on his body were cut into several strips by his sharp teeth.
"It's so dangerous, so dangerous." Charles, who was still in shock, didn't dare to stay. Before the leech could react, he clung to its slippery body and slipped out.
But this leech was just the beginning. The invisible leech was faster than Charles at full speed, and more and more flying leeches appeared to attack him.
At this time, Charles turned into an acrobat, dodging the attack with a narrow distance every time. His body was extremely agile at this time, like a dancer dancing on the tip of a knife, swinging wildly on the edge of life and death.
Just dodging the liquid sprayed by a cloud of leeches, a big mouth popped up on the right side of Charles. Charles stared at his feet and barely avoided it.
Before he landed, a big mouth appeared again. At this time, Charles, who couldn't use his strength in mid-air, had no choice but to watch and send himself into the monster's mouth.
