Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 15 Explorers

"Thank you, I'll go when I'm free."

As soon as Charles finished speaking, his expression immediately became a little ugly, not because of Elizabeth next to him, but because the auditory hallucinations in his mind started again.

Charles, with a distorted expression, began to tap his forehead with his wrist, getting heavier every time.

Elizabeth next to him immediately noticed Charles' strangeness, her eyes widened in surprise.

"My goddess, how long have you not rested?"

She pulled out a piece of green jelly-like substance from her chest and handed it over. "Eat it quickly, it can be effectively relieved."

Charles glanced at her hesitantly, and finally took it and swallowed it in one gulp.

A coolness slid down his throat, the whispering in his ear was still there, but the irritability disappeared.

"Thank you, what is this?" Charles looked at Elizabeth with a friendlier look.

Elizabeth chuckled a little. "You're welcome. I don't know what it is. I only know that it can relieve the whispers of God Ftan. If you want, you can go to Redwood Island to dig some. Don't eat too much, it will be addictive."

Redwood Island... Charles silently recorded the new place name in his heart.

The muscular man before had walked behind the two of them at some point, and he patted Charles on the right shoulder. "Rookie, the whispers of the God of Ftan have already affected you so much, you should take a rest."

Most of Charles's guard was removed. Although he didn't know why, he could feel that these people were kind to him. He hadn't felt this kind of obvious kindness for a long time.

Elizabeth next to him glanced at the staff who were still operating, pulled Charles up and walked towards the sofa next to him.

"Come with me, and I'll tell you something that most people don't know."

Charles still wanted to refuse, but the strong man next to him put his arms around his shoulders and carried him forward.

"Don't be shy, as the old saying goes, if you want to survive at sea, you have to make more friends."

When Charles came to his senses, he was already pressed on the sofa, and seven or eight captains in strange suits looked at him curiously.

There was curiosity and doubt in the eyes, but there was no hostility.

Elizabeth sat down next to Charles, her soft body leaned directly against Charles,

"Do you think we are a little enthusiastic? Hehe, the sea is already dark enough, so be friendly when you land on shore." Elizabeth said.

"It's a bit unexpected. It's really different from what I found in the museum." Charles relaxed.

Hearing what Charles said, a fat man stared and shouted loudly.

"What does the book say we are? A bunch of legitimate pirates? Crazy people who want money but don't care about their lives? People who say such things should be pulled to feed the fish!! If I become the governor in the future, everyone who says such things will be cut off Tongue!!"

Elizabeth next to him glared at the fat man, changed her smile and said to Charles, "This is a gathering place for coral island explorers~ You can exchange information here in the future."

Charles knew clearly that this was a communication salon for exploring captains.

"What kind of information is traded? Information about the island?"

"Everything is available. Islands, routes, relics, and useful information can all be shared. Maybe there are things you can't handle, and others have a solution. If you have any questions, just ask them, and we people will answer them for you. .”

What she said was really right, and Charles must have a question in his mind.

After thinking for a few seconds, Charles asked his own question. "Do you have any clues about the Land of Light in the North?"

The power of Charles' question was stronger than he had imagined. The sound of stools rubbing against the floor was heard one after another, and everyone distanced themselves from Charles, as if there was some plague on him.

Even Elizabeth next to her sat on the other side of the sofa, her eyebrows frowned. "You shouldn't be a member of the Light God Sect?"

Charles gave a dry laugh. "I'm not, and I don't believe in any gods."

Elizabeth breathed a sigh of relief, patted her plump chest and said, "That's right, you don't look like those lunatics either."

The tense atmosphere just now eased down immediately, and everyone chattered.

"It scares me. I don't want to deal with those lunatics. Land of Light? What are you asking about it?"

"If you're asking about the legendary ballad, I've heard it. I'll tell you a section. It's located on the island of the north. There's a ladder leading to the light. What's the eternal light with? Sorry, I forgot later. How did you sing it?"

"The stuff in the legend, how could we know, we are not gods."

"Rookie, you are so humorous."

There was a trace of disappointment on Charles' face. At first, he thought that the well-informed explorer captain could have some clues. It seems that the humans here have stayed in Earthsea for too long, so that the real hometown has become a distant legend. .

While everyone was discussing, a woman at the counter walked over with a stack of books in her hands.

She said with a smile on her face: "Mr. Charles, you are now a qualified explorer, and the island you explored will be protected by the Explorers' Association for the first three years. Please take this proof, and I will give it to you below." Introduce the task content."

She opened the stacks of books in her hand, only to find that there were sea charts written densely on each page.

"As long as any exploration mission is reported in the meeting, food, fuel and other materials will be reimbursed by the meeting. The rewards are different for different danger levels."

Charles took the chart and observed it carefully.

He could see that along the edge that had been explored, the unexplored dark area was divided into several small pieces with white lines like a cake, and the amount of reward was marked on each piece.

What surprised Charles was that in the unexplored sea area, sporadic islands were marked, including the golden statue island he had been to before.

A white finger stretched out from the side, pointing at the sea area, and Elizabeth's sexy and magnetic voice rang in his ears. "Charles, you just came here, I advise you to explore the sea area for a few years first, and then explore the island after you get familiar with it."

Although she was right, Charles didn't think so. He pointed to the golden statue island and asked, "What does this number mean?"

The island is marked with a bright red 4.

The fat man next to him interrupted and said: "That's the danger level. The danger level of the explored islands is 0. Every time the captain of the exploration can't come back, the danger level is +1. For a level 4 island like this, for you For newcomers, don’t even think about it, go explore the sea for two years before talking.”

Elizabeth glanced at him, put her mouth next to Charles' ear and said, "Don't pay attention to him, I think you have great potential, and you can explore this island in a year at most."

"I've been to this island." Charles said lightly, and the voices around him stopped instantly, and everyone stared at the young man in front of him with wide eyes.
